My friends, here's the finished debris and rubble. Now I can go over the tank with enamels and oil paints and refine/adjust all the dust tones, restore lost contrast, etc.
My phone has been possessed by a potato demon and took really crappy pictures. I don't know if the lens was greasy or something, but they look really bad and I'm sorry for that!
Anyway, the process was as follows: I prepared a bunch of fine gravel in 0.5, 1 and 2 mm sizes and crushed those 3D printed bricks in a brass mortar. I piled all of that over the model, working in small sections, and fixed it in place with VMS ballast freeze, blending the excess with water. After drying I sprayed these piles with VMS flat varnish as the freeze leaves a glossy residue, followed up by a heavy wash of Dry Earth from Ammo Splashes range. Then I picked out individual stones and bricks with different Vallejo acrylics and that makes the rubble "base coated" so to say.
Next, like I said, is another, more controlled round of enamels and oils - the same process like on the lower hull and wheels.
I'll get back to you tomorrow friends, I'm really exhausted and probably sunburnt or something. Sweet dreams!
