Hey friends, it's been a pretty interesting weekend!
First of all, yeah I managed to do some stuff on the Crusader, the hull is pretty much ready for all the smaller details - most of the large components are in place. I'll see what I can do about those stowage boxes tomorrow, the real ones were always kinda bent in all directions, not sure how I might do that with plastic, but I'll try to figure something out.
You can also see Mr. Surfacer in some panel lines. Riveted tanks like this one have a lot of panel lines, and I hate it when you have molded on panels and those that are just between two glued parts. It's impossible to get wash inside of them, so I made a "wash" out of Mr. Surfacer diluted with lacquer thinner and "filled" them just a little bit, so the "wash wash" will later flow in there nicely. A few panels will need another quick round tomorrow because there are some bubbles here and there, but it's better to give the primer a few hours to fully set.
Now about the whole new phone thing... well... I was starting to notice how embarrassing the quality was starting to get on those previous daily updates. Colors washed out, poor details etc. They were all shot on my old iPhone 6S. Yesterday I went for a big bike ride and I pretty much got caught in a complete downpour in the middle of nowhere. The biggest casualty was my phone, it got waterlogged and the screen stopped working, later the entire phone died, even though I had it in a waterproof jacket (wasn't waterproof enough I guess, also the 6S is the last not-waterproof iPhone)
So I thought like this was the ultimate signal to finally do an upgrade and today went to the big city and bought a 10S... very happy with it (it's also waterproof 😆), and you can most likely see some improvement in the photo quality 😊
Anyway, just wanted to update y'all before I head to bead, I'll catch up with your messages and e-mails tomorrow morning if that's gonna be okay 😊Talk to ya in a few hours!
