I'm gonna learn how to do this properly

Alright friends, shit just got real. I decided to paint those tarps with acrylics, not with oils like I did on previous occasions. This was mainly because adding lights and shadows with oils feels less controlled, although it is easier and faster, but I wasn't  able to imagine painting something more complex like a backpack or, god forbid, a figure with it.

Well, painting with acrylics is more difficult, that's for sure, but it's easier to control and, obviously, precision work is much easier. However, I think equipment is important for this method - I didn't use wet palette, and the brush I used also isn't in best shape, however I somehow managed to did it! It's not great, but I can see potential if I keep going at it in the future...

However, filming something like this is really hard, especially the constant mixing of paints, which I think is the most important part... now I won't blame any miniature painting videos for being so vague anymore!

But apart from that, I also painted the wooden crates with the same methods like on the tools. I just need to finish the third one today, then paint the straps and buckles, and finally add some of those weld bead chips and it'll be ready for weathering!
