Good late evening friends!
Sorry for not updating you yesterday, I did some work, but I almost fell asleep on the workbench so I went right to bed afterwards πIf the weather wasn't so nice I would probably do more work, but you know, yer ol' uncle has to take a day off from time to time!
But that stuff aside, I pretty much painted the entire base and got it ready for weathering. Well, weathering in this case means just some Aqualine dust and some of those orange-ish darker earth tones just like on the tank.
So what I did was to airbrush the entire base with Buff paint, and then added a bit of Deck Tan and sprayed the top of the hill and the road with it, mostly over the ruts.
Then I spent most of the time painting the details. The ammo crates looked really bad with no details inside, and two of them had actually pieces of print supports protruding from the other side, so I just filled them completely with stones and rubble. It probably wouldn't make sense in the real world but I so don't care.
Other than that, the soda bottle crate is just red, and cinderblocks were painted with light grey and some diluted deck tan on top of that.
The most time consuming, but most relaxing thing was painting the individual stones in different tones of deck tan, light grey and brown sand. I left the grass tufts in their original color because they blend with the dry environment pretty well.
So tomorrow I'll add the light and dark dust tones, paint the sides of the base black, fix the tank in place and most likely call it a day. I did print some of those plastic canisters and jerry cans but I don't know if I'll use them. I'll try, but I don't think the scene needs more details at this point.
That's it for tonight, I hope you had a great weekend and I'll report back tomorrow!
