This model is officially cursed. What a fool I was when I picked it as a "nice, fun, relaxing project, just what I need after that Tiger". But it's too late to quit now... technically speaking, it's almost done, the turret "consumed" the most parts and there's not too many left on the sprues.
So today I decided to focus on assembling rather than making more small details from scratch, to sort of... get motivated. Well that's of course nice and all, and I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel, but today I just remembered why Revell kits are the worst thing in existence.... very heavy seam lines, flash, and downright deformed parts... like, there's a huge MG ammo can that's supposed to be hanging on the side of the turret, it has all these perforations and it's generally just full of surface detail, and the part has just these 2 massive sink marks on both ends, it's completely deformed with no way to fix that. You can't even scratchbuild something like that because some of the details are too small... All of this is the main reason why it's taking so long... like even the most basic part takes at least 5 minutes to properly clean up...
Another flashback to my childhood, when I couldn't even properly assemble a model... well I guess it was because all of them were Revell. See those smoke dischargers? Yeah, on a "normal" kit their 3 parts would just snap together like lego blocks, this piece of crap doesn't even fit together, and it doesn't fit to the turret...
Yeah... the kit is just so annoying... it's honestly not fun anymore, and I pretty much lost any interest in making it look better with even the most basic stuff like wires, bolt heads or weld beads... at this point I just want to empty the sprues, glue everything together and just start painting it. But you know that saying... I actually don't know how to say it in English, but the point is, it's better to go to bed and continue in the morning, full of fresh motivation!
Also guys, quick idea, Tamiya M4A3E8 in 1/48 scale with concrete armor, yay or nay?
