Hey guys, hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
I'm officially done with the Tiger series, the last video is complete, and now I need to clean up the chaotic mess that I call my workbench (or workbenches to be more exact π).
Yeah, I've accumulated a lot of junk around me during these past few months as I was working on it, for example that large cardboard box is packaging from the 3D printer I received what... a month and a half ago? And it's been sitting there ever since...
So, today will be about cleaning the whole "studio" (can I call it a studio? sounds too professional π) and MAYBE I'll make a first cut into that T-90 in the evening, who knows!
I also need to make some improvements to my setup, this week I'll be ordering a whole bunch of new LED lights with 5500K temperature, because surprise surprise, my current light setup is all over the place. My lightcube is lit by 3x 6500K lights, which is a bad habit of mine from several years ago when I thought cold blue was the perfect temp... yeah, I know... and when a few of my work lights burned out the dude at the shop told me to go with 4500K which is "natural daylight". Yeah, no... 4500 might pretend like it's a neutral white color, but it's more towards the yellow spectrum. And it's been making my filming and photographing a living hell, so I'll swap all of them for 5500K, which seems like the perfect spot.
Also I've been thinking a lot about getting a new camera. The Nikon D5100 that I'm using is great, don't get me wrong, but it's almost 10 years old and it doesn't do the best job when it comes to filming... I think you all noticed the striking difference between how each model looks on video and on photos. And not only I want to make better videos, I'd also love if the filming and editing process would be easier (which definitely would if I didn't have to make dozens of color corrections each time). I've been thinking about the Canon EOS M50, but I'll first try the new light setup, because a new camera with some extra necessary gear isn't a small investment (but I know it'll happen eventually).
Anyway guys, enjoy the rest of the weekend!
