Rutscher is finished!
And if everything goes well, the video will be finished tomorrow.
What I'm most happy about is that I found a way to recreate wet stains on enamel and acrylic dust effects.
The thing is this... the only advantage of pigments (in my opinion) is that they allow us to create very realistic water and moisture effects by simply applying enamel gloss on top of them, as it will turn them darker showing the paintjob underneath, just like in real life. This isn't possible on enamel or acrylic paints as they won't absorb the enamel gloss (apart from Tamiya paints, which can do it to some degree).
Well today I finally found a way around it, I simply mixed wet effects with loose ground and a drop of dark wash. And thinned it a lot. This created a glossy mixture which is darker than the earth tones which I used on this model, and essentially creates the same effect. When applied over areas with less dust, it also shows the camouflage underneath. Win win situation!
Also, I kept thinking about adding some stowage or something similar all the time... even something simple like a short section of spare tracks... but just couldn't come up with anything suitable. Not to mention this small model is already very busy so I would probably be cluttering it.
So yeah, it's finally done and I still haven't decided what's next... Tiger, Crusader or T-35 🤔
