Proof that the earth is made of squishy stuff?

Over the last couple weeks I have been haunted by a problem. If the earth were totally rigid the lake shoreline would be at a higher elevation at the center than it is at the edges because water has mass and gravity which would make it bulge up in the middle. I did some rough calculations and it seems the amount it would bulge is the same amount as what I am measuring.
The flat earthers are going to have a field day with this. 🤦

It's the bubbles not the shock

It's a misconception that it's the shock that causes the super cooled water to crystalize. The shock itself does not do it but rather it's the tiny bubbles that the shock produces at the air water interface that act as nucleation sites.

Going to 5 PSI in a homemade space suit

We were using an external oxygen source for the demonstration and in the chaos the regulator went to higher pressure than intended. There is a bleed valve that would have started dumping at 6PSI if I hadn't caught it. Suit has been tested to 12 so I wasn't too concerned. Still, we had a chat about this and will implement extra safeguards.

I'm toying with the concept of a science fiction novel centered on a cattle rancher who discovers a wormhole hidden in the desert. I aim to adhere as closely as possible to the laws of physics, so there will be no use of it for infinite energy or time travel.

Processing solid waste is pretty much set using composting techniques but urine usually needs to be kept separate. This is what I'm looking into for processing my urine. The idea is that once oxidized to nitrate it can be used as fertilizer the same way as water from a fish tank. I'll make a full video once It's run for a while.
