One of the best two parters in the whole show, and once again written by Steven Moffat (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and The Girl in the Fireplace). Alex Kingston is outstanding as River Song. Will we ever see her again? Well β¦. Spoilers, Sweetie!π Incidentally, the character of River Song is loosely based on a companion who featured in a number of DW novels during the Wilderness Years when the show was off air - Professor Bernice Summerfield, archeologist. There are also a number of audio dramas about her adventures where sheβs played by Lisa Bowerman. Different character, but similar. Summerfield was also the companion in the original novel Human Nature, which was rewritten as the series three two parter with Martha.

2024-06-21 20:47:44 +0000 UTCJust want to point out that there is not one post series special after Series 4, there are FIVE of them. They are each 60 minutes long (except the last one, which is the second part of a 2-parter and is 75 minutes long), and they are all excellent (the very first one, the 2008 Christmas special, is the weakest in my opinion, and yet it's still wonderful)!
