2024-04-23 23:20:34 +0000 UTCThere is a very good reason why Sir Derek Jacobi is a knight of the realm. The man is, and always has Ben, and absolutely amazing actor. The switch from lovable, compassionate Professor Yana to The Master in that moment as he turns around, with absolute malevolence in his eyes, gives me chills every time. The Master has s a long standing enemy of the Doctor from the classic series, and Jacobi has said he was so thrilled to play him that he could barely contain himself to keep it secret. My only regret is that we didn’t have longer with him as the Master (though he has since recorded a number of Big Finish audio dramas in the role, which are also excellent).
