Hydrogen - The Fuel of the Future?

Sorry for the delay posting here. Been out filming again in Guam. Just back now after our final day, working to finish the latest script for my next video "How to Find a Planet"

Hydrogen - The Fuel of the Future?

from the other side, i'm okay with the sponsorship. i'm interested in developments in hydrogen powered vehicles, and as long as the sponsorship is clearly disclosed, i can take the information with the appropriate level of skepticism. i think that hydrogen will be an important part of the next age of transportation. its certainly not a given that batteries will be the dominant power technology, or even that there will be a dominant technology.

You are right, I did leave out a lot of detail, as I wanted to cover it in a second video where Shell had no influence. This was focusing on the production and infrastructure side for that reason, where as the next one will focus on its us. This sponsorship I’m essentially using to fund the WW2 travel series I’m working on at the moment, which I’m currently making a massive loss on, but that’s my decision. I appreciate your honesty, I’ll keep it in mind for future videos. I unfortunately can’t turn back time

First, I want to say I appreciate the response, and your professionalism in it. It was pretty obvious it was sponsored by them, to be honest. If you would have left that part off, not only would people be even more mad, but you'd be against YouTube's policy. I'm more just disappointed. You always encourage others to "think like an engineer", but that involves thinking about all of the positive and negatives when considering options. I don't feel like you did that, intentionally leaving out many of the negatives associated with using hydrogen. Hell, a lot of people in the YouTube comments who watched your video don't even realize hydrogen cars are just electric cars that essentially use fuel cells as an energy store. I'm not saying that H2 doesn't have its uses, and isn't a good video, but you made it sound like H2 cars are leagues better than electric. Did shell give you talking points at the start, or did you come up with everything on your own? I can't imagine what else they wanted you to change... I just wish you would have killed the deal rather than serve their interests. I know it's expensive to make these videos and you would have lost that sponsorship, though. I just hope it was worth it. I've appreciated all your videos (until now), and I'm glad I could help (even with my tiny $2) you become the channel you are today. Thanks for everything you've done.
