Aunt Hong was taken aback and turned her head to look towards the alley entrance, but there seemed to be no one there. However, Ying Xi had swiftly moved towards it and soon emerged holding a skinny man.
"What are you doing? Let go of me; I don't know you," the man struggled and tried to break free from Ying Xi's grip.
Ying Xi crossed the man's arms behind his back and applied force, causing the man to cry out in pain, his face contorted. "Let go of me! Who are you? Why are you grabbing me like this?"
"Sneakily watching us and now pretending you don't know who we are?"
"Who's watching you? I was just passing by," the man refused to admit, but Ying Xi had already brought him in front of Shu Yu.
Shu Yu looked at the man but didn't recognize him. However, Aunt Hong, who had been observing with narrowed eyes, suddenly exclaimed, "Wei Tang?"
Shu Yu turned to her in surprise, "You know him?"
Initially, she thought the man was here for her, but it seemed like he was targeting Aunt Hong?
Aunt Hong furrowed her brow, nodded slightly, and then glanced at Song Le but hesitated to say more.
Seeing her meaningful look, Shu Yu also recalled the name she had blurted out earlier.
Wei??
Realization struck her, and she said to Song Le, "Le Le, you and Ying Xi get on the carriage first."
Song Le obediently nodded and gave Wei Tang a quick glance before walking over to Ying Xi.
Ying Xi released Wei Tang, who was now free but immediately attempted to run away. However, as soon as he took a step, he was kicked in the back, causing him to fall flat on the ground. When he tried to get up, he was once again grabbed, this time by Shu Yu.
Wei Tang muttered, "Why are you bothering me like this?"
Aunt Hong was astonished. She had realized that the maid Ying Xi possessed martial skills, but she hadn't expected Shu Yu herself to be capable of this. The forceful kick that had knocked Wei Tang down earlier had been delivered by Shu Yu.
Aunt Hong looked at Song Le, who had been carried onto the carriage by Ying Xi, then back at the two individuals now at the entrance of the alley. After some hesitation, she decided to follow them.
As she turned the corner of the alley, she saw Wei Tang being pushed to sit on the ground by Shu Yu.
Upon seeing Aunt Hong approaching, Shu Yu asked, "Is this Wei family's relative?"
"Yes, this is Wei Tang, the younger brother of Gou Wa's mother, his real uncle," Aunt Hong replied in bewilderment. "The Wei family had all left the capital years ago, so how did they suddenly appear here?"
Speaking of this, Aunt Hong stepped forward and frowned. She asked, "Wei Tang, why are you here? Have all of you returned? What about Gou Wa's mother?"
Wei Tang got up from the ground, brushed dirt off himself, and pursed his lips. He glanced at the two individuals in front of him and said, "My sister is dead."
Aunt Hong's face turned pale, and she widened her eyes. "How is that possible? When did she die? How did it happen?"
Wei Tang impatiently replied, "Why are you asking so many questions? She's dead anyway."
"You, youโฆ"
Shu Yu furrowed her brow slightly, her expression not looking very pleasant. Fortunately, she had asked Song Le and Ying Xi to go ahead, so they didn't hear these words.
However, Shu Yu remained skeptical of Wei Tang's words. She patted Aunt Hong on the shoulder, signaling her to calm down, and then turned to Wei Tang.
"If your sister has passed away, why have you come to the Hong family's house? And why were you acting so suspiciously, intending to do something bad?"
