Xiao Shi thought Shu Yu had come to chat with her, so she didn't expect her to have something to discuss with her husband.

Xiao Ruojun quickly stopped him. "Wait, Ah Yu is here to talk to you."

Xiang Weinan was taken aback. "Me?"

Shu Yu noticed that he was in a hurry and didn't waste any time. She straightforwardly explained her reason for coming. "You know I'm going to open a shop in the capital. I'd like to ask for your help in finding a suitable store shopkeeper."

Xiang Weinan's expression turned somewhat peculiar upon hearing this. "How did you come up with the idea of asking me for help?"

Shu Yu blinked. "Ah Yun suggested asking you."

Once he heard that it was Meng Yunzheng's idea, Xiang Weinan suddenly seemed to realize something, and his face darkened.

After a moment of silence, he sneered, "I knew it; he's trying to collect a debt from me in a roundabout way. Fine, if you want a store shopkeeper, you've got me. I'll take care of it tomorrow."

After saying that, he snorted and stormed off in anger.

Shu Yu hesitated and asked, "Did I say something I shouldn't have?"

Xiao Shi shook her head in bewilderment. Her husband had always been very steady; it was rare to see him change emotions so quickly.

Although Madam Xiang didn't fully understand, she reassured them, "Don't mind him; he's been very busy these past two days. Plus, knowing that Ruojun is pregnant has made him both happy and anxious. He's not himself right now. I'll have a doctor check on him later."

He seemed as if he had lost his mind.

Shu Yu wondered about the strange comment Xiang Weinan had made about "collecting a debt." Did he owe Meng Yunzheng a significant sum of money?

Although Xiang Weinan had agreed to help, despite his apparent moodiness, Shu Yu felt relieved.

She stayed with Xiao Shi for a while longer at the Xiang residence. Seeing that Xiao Shi started yawning not long after, just as Gu Mama had mentioned, she was extremely drowsy. Shu Yu bid her farewell and returned home.

The next day marked the end of the third round of examinations. Shu Yu arrived at the gates of the Imperial Examination Hall early in the morning.
