DevLog Update

Ok, sooooo I guess school deadlines made me completely overlook doing a DevLog update recently. It's been awhile and I apologize for the lack of enormous text walls. However, I have been pretty good about updating the writing progress on the Patreon page so hopefully you've felt in-the-loop. For those newer folks, you can keep an eye on where I'm at with the newest update developemnt under the Overview tab on the Patreon page. It's right at the top and shows the anticipated stages of update development and where I'm at.

Personal Stuff First

So since this project's inception, I've been juggling full-time work, full-time student, and a full-time internship. I wanted to get this update out faster but it got slowed down with the tail end of school, papers, and the last of my internship stuff. That being said. I've officially completed my last assignment for my degree so that has now shaved my entire workload down from essentially 3 full-time jobs plus the game development down to 1 full-time job plus the game. So basically, my ass is finally done with college! Woot! 

Ok....enough about me: How this will impact the updates is hard to say right now. Part of me wants to pump them out faster and part of me wants to just enjoy my life for a change and keep game development at the same pace. Regardless, I do plan for some improvements in the writing style of the game. Thus far, I've had a ton of stress from school writing and that negatively impacted my game writing from the beginning of the game up to this point. For those of you impressed with the writing, I appreciate it but it's never been my best work and I can do a lot better. Hopefully, my style and format will improve a bit with less irons in the fire.

Game Update

So, as always, I underestimated my wordiness so the update is going a bit slower than I thought (plus the school shit above). That being said, it's actually a bit longer than I anticipated, too, so hopefully that will balance out. I've sorta finished the rough draft and started to go back through for proofreading and revisions. In terms of CGs, I have about 3 scenes left: two are short and one is massive but will probably have a lot of reused images because it's another one of those long conversations--probably the longest conversation at this point. Right now, there's about 90 images so far so it will definitely break 100...probably closer to 115ish by the time I'm done. Image production has slowed down in comparison to past updates but I feel the quality is better. You should notice a visual difference between this update and the previous ones on most CGs (although I still reused some old CGs in some scenes. I'll go back and fix that later in the final polishing phases).

I'm also working on another surprise in game for this update that I'm not going to disclose any details about at all. It justifies some of the extra time but hopefully it will be worth it. Actually, this is about the only reference to it I'm going to mention because I'm having a few troubles with it but I'm still optimistic. Stay tuned...

Around 1500 lines of code so far but I still need to code a ton of images in so that will increase quite a bit. While I originally thought this would be a shorter update, it's gone more "medium" at this point with a ton of dialogue. Hopefully, this update will answer a ton of questions for most of you and potentially fill in some of the ambiguity with a great big exclamation point on Zack's character development--among other surprises.

No ETA on it yet but I'm hoping I can give an ETA by next week.

As always, you're anxious about the update and I'm terrified about it. So we all suffer together until it's release:)
