And I'd love to hear your thoughts on making my fanbox art available to modders.
Since I switched to fanbox, my fanbox art hasn't been used by modders.
I actually don't think it's a bad idea for fanbox-generated art to be used by mods, but I'd like to hear what you, the paying customers, think.
Do you think it should be used exclusively in fanboxes? Or do you think it should be made available to modders and recycled into mods?
I would totally defer to your opinion

2024-01-31 18:09:34 +0000 UTCby the way, the version of the Azazel mod coming out with the next game patch this month contains Scenes featuring 110!!! pieces of art (unique+variations) from SOBORO. It's just that none of it was pulled from this fanbox. It was all made for the mod specifically or stuff SOBORO shared before starting the fanbox.

Let modders use the work, but ask them to use the images in the mod at a lower resolution, so that users cannot simply extract your art from the mod at full quality. If you make art at the 1920x1080p resolution for example. Ask modders to use that art at 1280x720 resolution or smaller. This resolution is fine for showing the art in game, and if players want to pull the art from the mod, they will find that they can have a higher resolution version if they subscribe to your fanbox. (All the modders I know are grateful for your work and would respect this request).

2024-01-27 19:48:28 +0000 UTCI don't see any problem with modders having access to the art. On the contrary, it makes for mods with excellent illustrations. I don't subscribe to Fanbox to get exclusive content, but to support an artist. If the art is free or used by modders, that's fine with me.
