Weekend Update 26th July, 2020 - Hi, I'm Alex!
Added 2020-07-26 16:03:19 +0000 UTCHi everyone,
It's about time I introduced myself officially in these parts - I'm Alex, and you've probably seen my name floating around if you've ever sent Kardavox Academy an email, or been replied to on Youtube, or been at the first Q&A (which was awesome, btw!)
But yes, hi, I'm Alex, and I'm the wind beneath Mark's wings that also keeps the lights on. I think I mixed my metaphors there, but you get the idea.
I've worked in the music industry for a decade and I'm a producer and creative consultant. Long story short - I work with artists, creatives, and bands to help them build businesses out of their artistic endeavours. I also completely create bands from scratch on the side for fun, such as Sleep Token.
Who says "business" has to be boring?
Anyway, due to unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately, there won't be a video this weekend as Mark has an issue he has to deal with (he's fine, don't worry), so I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce myself, and provide a little update on a couple of things:
1. Going forward, we will work to bring more exclusive content to the Patreon, such as outtakes, and glimpses of the more ambitious ideas we are working on (hell, maybe I'll even share some top secret demos of some of my projects). The main channel reaction videos will no longer be here 24 hours before, however, any videos that we do for you guys, or any of our upcoming premium/longer-form content will be available here first.
2. The end is in sight for the first-ever Kardavox Academy vocal tournament, with the final vote to decide the community champion set to take place on Monday, and the full results of the tournament, including the winner of the Improvement Run-offs to be revealed by us in a Twitch Listening Party stream on Thursday, 30th July at 5pm EST.
The stream will last for two hours where we will listen to an eclectic playlist of music curated by Moi including the Top 5 entries from the tournament and the Improvement Run-off winner. We hope to see you all there!
3. Yesterday, the channel officially hit 2 million total views, which is honestly incredible and we couldn't have done it without you guys! Seriously, so much love to all of you, and Mark and I are ecstatic about the future. We have a ton of plans, and can't wait to see this blow up further with you all by our side!
Anyway, tell me about yourselves! What are you working towards? Do you have any artistic endeavours, pursuits or projects of your own? What are your goals?
I'd love to get to know you all!
Hope you're all staying safe out there. And thanks again for all of your support.
- Alex

As always, you are so welcome ;D It is so great to see people who enjoy their life’s work. In my opinion way too many are stuck in jobs they hate, wasting away. So I’m glad for every person who gets the chance to actually be fulfilled by what they do ^^ Thank you! Coming from you this means a lot :D And if you guys think so... What could go wrong X) But I don’t think I have to get that far… At some point I would be just happy to sing, improve and make music, you know :)
2020-07-31 20:42:44 +0000 UTCThanks Lena! I have to say, I do enjoy my job, yeah, haha! You have great enthusiasm, the right attitude, and Mark and I are confident that you're going to go far! <3
2020-07-30 20:54:39 +0000 UTCGood luck dude! Silent Planet is some seriously emotional stuff! What I say to all of my clients (as well as the ethos I take with all my projects), don't be afraid to take your time. Sometimes things take time to develop. Unless you're already established, people aren't really interested in seeing incomplete stuff. Work until it's done, make plans, and then just knock those dominoes down. I worked on Sleep Token for 2 years before we released a song, and I have a huge project I've been working on for three years already. Good things take time to build, so don't be discouraged! - Alex
2020-07-30 20:52:03 +0000 UTCWhen my vocals are halfway decent some day I would really like to start singing in my own band. To a certain extent I can write lyrics but I have no clue about composing whatsoever. Sadly I’ve never learned to play an instrument as well. And I’m getting the feeling that I’m not knowing as much music as everyone else… But hey, things could be worse, I guess X) Sounds like you have a really cool job, Alex O.O Other than that you absolutely deserve all the views and praise you‘ve got so far! And I’m always looking forward to more of your content :D So whatever your future endeavours… I’m all in ^^
