STEINS;GATE 0 EPISODE 17 FULL REACTION!

STEINS;GATE 0 EPISODE 17 FULL REACTION!

Comments

As always, you have the best interpretation, thank you for your comment! It definitely feels like everyone is at their limit mentally and it's starting to get really crazy. So Suzuha coming from the future (B1) changed the world line into B2 and she got a D-mail from B2 Daru. I think I understand now hopefully. :D

Hey Glib! :) I agree, the writing is really top-notch. It's a really complex story with all the world lines in the mix but it's still so well thought out, intense, emotional and real. I got used to watching 1 episode per day. If I didn't do these reactions the situation would probably be different haha, I would binge it 100% :D

Everyone's voice actors are really earning their paychecks recently with these performances. The 3 episodes you are watching this week are absolutely incredible because of what they accomplish: all this tension that everyone has been trying to push down is erupting like a volcano. Now that I think about it, that seems to be one of the core themes of Steins;Gate 0, and the franchise in general. "People often hide their true selves, but the only way forward is to let that mask down." How Mayuri never exposed her "selfish" desires before now, how Suzuha kept her fears about her mother and her desire to stay in this peaceful era hidden, how Daru said he only cared about his 2D waifus, but really he was just hiding the fact that he didn't feel good enough for a real girl to like him, etc. Now I think I can help explain what 2025 Daru meant. My explanation may not be perfect but I hope it helps. Steins;Gate 0 starts in a Beta worldline, let's call B1. In B1, Mayuri in 2011 never decided to go back with Suzuha to 2010. She just moped around until 2036 and wondered how things might have changed if she'd acted sooner (as we see in EP1). Now, Suzuha came back in time, and influenced events so Mayuri decided to act now, changing the worldline from B1 (where she didn't decide to go back with Suzu) to B2 (where she did). Therefore, since Suzu came from the future in B1, the future in B2 is no longer exactly the same as the one she came from.

Steve.

Hi Marko! Great video as always! ^_^ You know, in this show you say a lot that you were not expecting some things coming. And that's really a thing about Steins;Gate, how it masterfully manipulates the viewer's expectations and emotions. Or when the show teases us with some hints (like Mayuri travelling in a time machine in the opening), and sets some expectations for it, but when it comes to that, at the last very moment something absolutely unexpected happens. And so your initial expectations were both met and wrong at the same time, maintaining your interest in what's coming next. And as usual, you, like all of us before, just don't see what's coming next. :) As the show's coming to its final leap, the story's pacing becomes very intense. I honestly don't know how you're able to watch only one episode a day, I so admire your patience. :)
