Jackson does know how to tell a tale. Like with Gollum, Serkis did motion capture for Kong, not a costume. I felt a couple of scenes were too drawn out, and Jack should have died a dozen times. I've always been haunted by the scene where Serkis's character gets eaten by the worm-like things. Overall, a spectacle, to be sure, Btw, there was a 13-minute extended cut on the DVD release. As I understand, Jackson has about 7 more hours of footage from LOTR. Hope to get some of it someday. Perhaps for the 25th anniversaries of each film.
