2024-02-03 23:31:53 +0000 UTCIn my experience from when the series was airing, my friends and people that I spoke with about the series, people were split about 50/50 on the Rachel/Joey thing. Some liked it, some hated it. Those that hated it wanted her to be with Ross. Those that liked it would say that she and Ross just 'don't work' and if she's going to be with someone, then who better than Joey? Me personally? I didn't mind the storyline when it began playing out. I didn't particularly want the two of them to end up together, I more wanted her to be with Ross. But, dating and mini-relationships happen in life. Ross had a fling with Janice, right? So why can't Rachel and Joey 'fling' each other? Life happens. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Of course, you've seen the first episode of "Joey", so you know that by the time that series takes place, none of the "Friends" are with him. So you already know that small spoiler. So I would say "just go with the story and let it play out", let some of the comedic moments be enjoyable, even though you don't like the particular direction of the story and try not to get so 'angry' over the journeys that the story takes. There's some pretty funny stuff coming up and I think that if you set aside your dislike of the direction of the story, you'll enjoy those funny moments. But I also see that getting a little upset at any particular story line shows a sort of 'emotional investment' in the characters and stories.
