I agree. You saying that there was a parents table and a kids table is mindblowing to me. And some that at some homes you were not allowed to speak at the table.. I've never heard of something like that. 85% of the time we eat dinner at the table and we always talk. We are only quiet if the food is to good hahaha. Im 28 now and we still do this. Even i never want a phone/ tablet or tv on when we are eating. I dont even want to see a phone. I just want to sit down, enjoy my food with my family. A moment of peace and talk about your day or whatever you want. If you have nothing to say you just listen, which is fine to. You said that its good that there was a film like this, but its a film from 1995. Its from around your age right? But i gues everywhere is different. Because you experienced your childhood that way, atleast you know how to be a really good and understanding father to your kids. Because you never want your own children to go through that. Great film !
