The best Spider man imo original story wise, this is more accurate to the original comics than Tobeys version, but a 3rd movie was planned but never happened.

You are correct, Andrew and Emma fell in love and dated during and after their filming of these movies. They were together for 4 years, but they broke up. They are still good friends though and keep in contact with each other. They were such a fun loving and wholesome couple in real life.
Yep it ended just like that, there is no TASM3. There were plans, but it got scrapped. As I said in your TASM reaction, there was mixed reactions from the spidey fans since Day 1. Also, there’s tons of criticism about the writing and how it just doesn’t compare to Tobey and even Tom’s Spidey Movies. Especially in TASM2, they felt there was too much packed into one movie. 3 villains with the 3rd one randomly added in the end to explain the Sinister Six or whatever direction they wanted to go with that group of villains moving forward.
Well, there has been rumors about TASM3. Andrew has really made his impact in that movie and many people want to see him as Spider-Man/Peter Parker again. Especially with better writers this time around and given the better script that he deserves.
I mean for me, I really enjoyed TASM and TASM2. I did have question the writing choices, but i still felt the message of the movie. I think it’s just honestly Andrew Garfield for me, he’s just an amazing actor and he did such an AMAZING job portraying Peter/Spider-Man. I actually prefer his Spider-Man tbh and I grew up with Tobey’s Spider-Man and I enjoy Tom’s Spider-Man too. But it’s just something about Andrew.. maybe it’s just his genuineness and how much he puts so much care and passion in being Peter Parker/Spider-Man. But it is expected, Andrew grew up reading Spider-Man comics and watching Tobey’s Spider-Man movies. He understood the assignment. 😂👍

Everybody has a preference and he seemed to enjoy TASM and TASM2. I agree that the writing and storylines could have been A LOT BETTER. But the nonetheless, I still really liked it! Maybe because of Andrew’s portrayal of Spider-Man and his incredible acting. Again.. you have your opinion and preferences and there are people who really liked both movies. 👍

It was Sony's attempt to line up an all-villain Sinister Six movie (hence their re-jamming a more comic-canon correct version of the Green Goblin and Gwen-sacrifice arc into the last half hour), before Warner could counter with the first all DC-villain Suicide Squad movie.
And as a result, it became the movie that finally CONVINCED Sony to agree to let Marvel handle Peter Parker. (Now, if they could just re-do a better version of the Rhino...)

So this movie was uh... not good. I'd say the weakest Spider-Man film. However, that doesn't mean that there wasn't good things in it. Peter and Gwen's relationship is the best part of these films (whereas Peter and MJ's was probably the worst). They were such a sweet wholesome couple and that death was absolutely effective, just as effective as in the comics. Even Andrew was not a bad Spider-Man. He was smart, he was witty, he was skilled, flawed, pretty much everything Spider-Man is supposed to be. With just a few more drafts and more care given to the plot and villains, this had the potential to be something great, dare I say "amazing," for sure.
