Added 2022-10-27 14:00:06 +0000 UTCIn a job interview once, I was asked: “What are your hobbies?” This is also a staple question I used to ask interns when I was in charge of hiring interns in my department.
While the answer to this question is telling of someone’s personality and potential cultural fit for a company, the real kernel is determining someone’s creative outlet and influence. Because creativity can’t grow in a silo. And a person with diverse interests brings different perspectives to the table.
For this reason I prefer to switch up my hobbies every season, whether it’s reading a different book genre, taking up a different sport, or getting certified at something new.
In the picture: Last summer, I got into archery. If you are looking for a fun thing to do, take a basic class at Gotham Archery. It's an hour long and costs about $40. I've seen parents take their kids and couples on 3rd or 4th dates.
