[September Release] Stonefish Class Assault Flier

(Edit.1_9.4.22: Both Raw and Supported files have been uploaded to CG&T. DISCLAIMER: Some pieces on this kit fit a bit tightly initially  and require a little bit of work to mesh properly. This is mostly with  the interaction between the engines and body joint and a few of the wing  inserts, some light sanding, or in the engine's case, a few rotations  will clear out the slot~

As always if you're not seeing the files in your library, hit the "Check for new Downloads" button on your downloads page~ Given everything's just been uploaded, it still might take a bit for everything to show up~
~Pipes)

Last vehicle set for a minute, but I admit, after finishing these escort drones, I am a bit excited for the next one~

This is a large multi-role aerial vehicle that can be assembled in a handful of ways, with the primary two assemblies being a payload based bomber, and a light skirmisher. However all the bits are interchangeable and you can build these in any manner you think is neat. With a handful of optional pieces this one should be pretty neat to mess around with. Pre-slotted for magnets so that you should be able to assemble it as either or. I tried to get a decent sampling of a few variants in the renders~ (For anyone wondering, the missile trails are from the DeadlyPrintStudios narwhal weapon effects and isn't part of this release, I just thought they looked neat in the render~)

Presupports are currently being worked on, and the main fileset should be up on the 3rd or 4th of the month as always~ If for whatever reason I don't have the supports by the 4th I might hold the raw fileset back till I get them in. There are a lot of "moving parts" so to speak, and I want to make 100% sure that everything can be assembled. I also want to make sure the flight stands work, but I will always recommend making your own slots for stands as needed like with the triggerfish, and there are two front hulls to this effect, one with a socket for the stand and one without. I also chose to leave the drones separate from the main flyer to act as escorts instead of having a dedicated hard mount. I went into this a bit on the discord, but this lets me not have to model around sticking a full drone assembly to the actual ship (I dislike this aspect of every other vehicle I've done so far.), and I can make the drones neater too. And like I said prior, I think I have a form that I'm excited to work with in regards to another flier.

I have another thing to announce on top of the standard model release, but I'll let this sit for a sec before I get into that, but it's pretty cool~

Anyway, next month is a crack at that bipedal version of the Narwhal, in a more standard mecha package. I Don't think this will take me more then a month, but I will take more time if I need it for this one.

(I'll edit this once the raw files are up, and then again for the supported files~)

The flight stands really look a little bit fragile.

Fabricio Calvo Silva

The final print is a bit lighter then the Triggerfish, and the actual stands are a lot sturdier then I thought they'd be~ ~Pipes

Poyper

God that looks awesome! I'd just be worried about having a printed model that high up given the weight of my Triggerfish tanks.

Zaceria

Clear plastic lolipop sticks are perfect for drones, and the 1/4" acrylic are under the brand name Plastruct, both ordered from amazon~

Poyper

If you don’t mind me asking what acrylic rods do you use? I don’t really like waisting printer time on bases/stands either and I have a lot of flyers coming up 😂

Graem Taylor

There will be the stands and bases (with magnet slots) as rendered~ I'll be testing them as well once I get the files back as I don't really care for printed stands that much over acrylic rods~ ~Pipes

Poyper

I cannot wait to print and play these. Will there be files for the stand as well?

Graem Taylor

Great job guys, thanks for the detailed description and take as much time as you need to complete the bipedal version of the Narwhal

Naked_SoNUshka

Perfect flyers, your work is simply pleasantly striking in its constructiveness and clarity. Keep it up!

NakedAlice

I'm in love with the escort drones, they are like baby remoras.

Harkins Aquatics

such a fantastic ecology

Stephen Rider

I'm so giddy at the thought of printing these to add to my strike force. My gaming group is gonna be sooo jealous. Thank you so much. Awesome work as usual. 😀

Soulwraith

These look awesome, and the drones are icing on an awesome cake!

Kyle Bentley

That’s pretty grand! And I love the little drones!

B. Griffith

This is definitely one of the best Patreons I subscribe to. Really enjoy the quality of the models.

Andy Bradbury

I was already excited for the Stonefish but the Escort Drones are so much cooler than I could've imagined!

Emanuel Rolland

Very cool flyers. And I can definitely see why you are so hyped about the drones. They do look sleek. Great work as always Pipes :)

VeryStoic

Pipes, this and your Mako set have to be some of the best models ever! Keep up the great work!

James Wainwright

Amazing…. keep up the good work!!
