Even moreso when you realize that he was still handicapped by the fact that he was being controlled by Kabuto who has no idea how to effectively use Nagato at all. Nagato in his prime would have been a monster if he had successfully healed himself instead of becoming permanently linked to the Gedo statue, thereby keeping him in a crippled state.
