I think the band could have played awhile. Remember, it was a huge ship. People not nearby probably couldn't hear a small band, what with all the noise of panic and destruction.

I read a book as a kid, where one survivor recalled that after the announcement to the lifeboats, the band played "Nearer My God to Thee"...and then there was a mad scramble. Cameron's movie explanation made more sense, but this was before.

OHH! You reacted to this! yeey!
- You miss 2,5 minuts? It suddenly jumps further in the video.
- Oh it happened 2 times?
- There is another survivor story i think i send as well. Her story really touches your heart. I mean this one does as well! But its different. She said she heard the band playing (and more but i dont want to spoil it).
I think it DID play. Untill a point that the ship really sunk. So when the front part of the boat was getting lower and lower, they adventually stopped i think. So shorter than in the movie.
- No, there were no lifeboats close to the ship. They all sailed far away from the ship, because of the suction. I have no doubt that alot of people drowned that way..
- I really love to watch these video's. I love history but also learning about big (tragic) events that happened in the past. It does something to me. I love to learn about those things. I love to hear survivor stories. To get more dept on how things really went. I think its so important to know. I also think that way you can understand people's lifes better and i have soooo much respect for those people. Its sad, painfull and tragic. But these people were so strong... <3
- I also think its good to get the truth. But you have to stop at some point. Let the truth and the horrors, lie with those who passed. Let them rest in peace.
An example is that im glad they didnt bring the Titanic up to the surface. Let it stay on the bottom of the sea in respect to those who lost their lives.
