I actually like that they did this with Steven because there are so many teens ( and even kids) that go through this but can't speak up because of societal norms and family generational trauma. If they watch this series, maybe it can encourage them to seek the help they really need. But, yeah, Steven had me worried ;_; but Thank God the suffering is almost over.

2025-02-28 05:09:14 +0000 UTCI cannot explain how I felt watching this for the first time, it was so rough😭 I know a lot of people hate Steven in SU Future, but I didn’t really hate him, I was more empathetic. It was never easy for him growing up and he never got to complain or have an issue with what was happening around him so I felt like this actually made sense.

I feel like so many people have problems with this show because it tackles so much more of a mature theme than the original show did, and in a much more realistic way too. Don't get me wrong, I love the original show. They wanted to teach younger kids a lesson about accepting others, and they did that well. THIS show however, is definitely meant for an older audience, and I think a lot of people were much more used to how in the original steven universe, problems got solved much more quickly than they do here, and a lot of people find steven to be annoying because of how he keeps running away and not listening to anyone... This show means so much to me. As someone who grew up being the person to settle the arguments between my friends and to focus on everyone around me instead of myself, this show helped me realize so much about myself. I guess that's kinda why it annoys me when people call Steven annoying in this, because he is going through so much... rly good reactions btw :D
