Even though I understand his guilt for what learning the truth about what his father has done, I do feel like he is on brand with emotions first and strategy later. How do y'all feel about Historia's approach and response to this situation? I feel like she is having an amazing moment of growth as a character. Why did Rod never take the serum before now?

It's the same thing Eren used to prevent the cave from falling down on top of them. Rod had spinal fluid with that particular power in it, and that's what Eren consumed which allowed him to use it easily.
