Update 3/21/25
Added 2025-03-21 18:10:40 +0000 UTCTeaser:
You, uh... you might have noticed a little image I posted earlier in the week. I wanted to just post a casual teaser with little fanfare, and it got more likes and comments than I thought it would. Not sure what I expected to come from that tease, but it was less than what it got, for sure. Thank you for all the positive feedback to that.
For those that didn't see it, I'll confirm it here: Yes, work has begun on a sequel game to Enter the Expansion Mansion. To be clear, though, work will be rather slow on it, and it will be an unknown amount of time before anything playable is put into the wild. My overall situation hasn't changed, so I'm still very limited in my free time to do Twine work. Still, I've started doing a lot of work on the backend parts: character outlines, plotting, mapping, lore construction, etc.
About the New Game:
The short version is this: The husband and wife from the first game are back. As is the boob obsessed scientist Lilith, and a few of her cohorts. You'll be exploring a fabled island believed to be the site of all kinds of sexy shenanigans known by some as The Isle of Eros. As with the previous game, the game will be a true interactive fiction, with a major focus on BE. Some other fun items will be tossed in for good measure here and there, just to keep matters interesting.
Projects on Hiatus:
This, of course, raises the question of "what about the other games not yet finished?"
To be fully candid, if my schedule change hadn't tamped down on my Twine time, looking back, I'm pretty sure that neither BEAI or How the Breast Was Won would have ever made it to completion. It hurts to say it, but I was eager to try something new, and it didn't really work in either case. I'm a writer at heart, not a game developer, so the push to do all these more experimental projects was ill fated, even if I couldn't see it then. As such, I don't intend to go back to either of these games in their existing forms. I won't rule out a reinvention as story or IF game down the line, but that's a big maybe.
On the plus side, I learned a ton about Twine programming from those projects. That knowledge has already been moved forward into my work on The Isle of Eros. For example, this new game will use a lot of what I learned about Twine save systems from my stint on How the Breast Was Won. I'm happy to say that I intend to launch it with a fully functional multi-slot save system, right from the beginning.
Also, no autoplaying text. Promise.
Games Going Forward:
I won't go much more into future plans, as it's going to be slow, as I already said. For now, my focus will remain on Commissioned stories and my ongoing tales. Those all still have plenty of story left to tell. Game development will happen in my spare time when I've got the willpower to work at it.
Given the dropping of BEAI and How the Breast Was Won, it's understandable to consider my track record with games a little shaky at this point. I certainly do. The comfort I can offer is this: Isle of Eros will be more like Expansion Mansion than anything else I've done. As such, I don't plan to introduce status bars, character stats, custom character creation, serious RPG elements, real-time minigames, experimental fourth wall breaking, etc. I'm keeping the scope creep limited to just interactive fiction. It'll be a big game, but that's doable. All the extra stuff is what I want to avoid. We're back to basics with this one. Focusing on what works.
Suggestions Welcome:
The Isle of Eros is still very much in the early stages. While I've got the basics mapped out, there's plenty of little gaps to fill in. That's where you guys all come in. I invite anyone to make suggestions for what you want to see in the game. Specific kinks or scenarios, characters to return, something you wanted out of the first game that you never got, whatever. Let me know your wish list. I want to include as much varied content as possible.
For now, I'm back to writing!
Comments
The thought has occurred to me, but for now, the money I make through Patreon and ebook royalties is barely enough to justify the associated costs of art commissions, publishing expenses, and the time/effort that goes in. I simply don't yet have the money to bring in another person, and asking for volunteer work for something I make money on is ethically uncool. There's also the matter of wanting to maintain full creative control. Short answer: I've considered it, but don't think it's the way for me.

Excited to hear the occasional update about Isle of Eros, I thought I'd bail after game development slowed/stopped but I'm hooked on Dear Dairy and Breast Obsessed so I stuck around! Had you ever considered finding someone else to do the coding/programming while you focus on writing?
