MAJOR PATREON/LIFE UPDATE!

Hey guys!

You might have seen that I finally finished How to Grow Your Own Nymph. Be sure to check it out.

I'm making this update because there's going to be some huge changes here, and they're not really great news...

This weekend saw some big life changes for me (nothing bad, don't worry). I won't elaborate on that, but the gist is that I simply don't have the time to work on something as time consuming as the game development anymore. I was already doing my best to fit it in around work and home life, but things are going to get more difficult in that regard.

The game development simply takes so much time between the prose, the coding, the debugging, the recoding, the debugging, the recoding, the colossal problems that arise due to my dumb mistakes, etc. Lately, it's settled into nearly 8-10 weeks between major game updates. Furthermore, I feel that the more ambitious my game projects have gotten, the more the quality has suffered. It's simply no longer possible for me to devote the necessary time to make these things happen.

I'm really sorry about that.

But fear not! I'm not totally done!

Even when I've had less time in my personal life, I've been writing the odd smutty novella here and there. I even started a new one (Dolled Up) between projects here. Writing takes much less time than game design. I can do a chapter of a novella in the time it takes me to do maybe one room or character interaction for a game. The lack of coding to deal with just makes it me and the prose. (Plus my wife can help with the workload by doing proofreading, something she could not do for the games.)

Because writing is so much quicker, I'll be shifting gears to focus purely on writing smut stories, instead of games.

I won't be able to work on things every day. I'll be lucky to get a day or two each week. But that should be enough time to still put out regular-ish content here. I won't establish a firm schedule until I see how things go, but I'm hopeful that I will be posting at least 1 chapter every two weeks, roughly. I've already got multiple stories in mind that have been floating around as I worked on these games.

They will obviously be expansion and transformation fetish stories. Nothing changing there.

I know this isn't exactly what the majority of you would like to hear. I have no illusions about this change costing me a large number of supporters who joined for my games. I really am sorry to see any of you leave, but I certainly understand.

So yeah, I'm not going anywhere, my life and workflow are just drastically shifting.

As for How the Breast Was Won: it's sadly being shelved for now. I may someday come back to it and this game development world (probably with smaller scope projects closer to Enter the Expansion Mansion). Who knows? Maybe I'll pick up How the Breast Was Won in the future as a novella. I can't say.

Sorry for the super long post, but I wanted to lay everything out there.

Thank you all for your support this past year, and thank you to those who choose to stick around during this major shift in content.

I'll leave you with a few story ideas I've been kicking around. I may put up a poll later to see which sounds most interesting.

1. Working Title: I'm Usually Not This Forward, But the Alien Inside Me Needs Your Cum!

2. A story about a research facility that opens up a window to a sexy alternate universe.

3. Working Title: Into the Lustlands (a fantasy tale about a human who must travel a strange, sexy land and meet lots of lustful species)

4. Working Title: Aftermath (a couple struggle to adjust to life after massive breast expansion)

Comments

I definitley agree with what Cory said earlier. The games youve made are fantastic, but the writing was the best part. I do prefer my Text Adventures, but ill definitley stick around for some stories!

Life always finds a way to muck things up for us. I understand. I hope you’ll continue to do CYOA content one day since Expansion Mansion was such a delight.

K-VA

I have actually considered that. I might have at least one running story with something like that.

If you're thinking about just working on prose rather than games, have you considered a sort of CYOA type approach to get the interactivity of a game, but without all the programming? Like every couple weeks or whatever you post a chunk of a story along with a poll with a few options for how to proceed, and then go from there?

Hey, life comes first, and you have to do what's best for you. I will say, even if you stopped entirely now, Expansion Mansion was worth every penny, and is a fantastic piece of interactive fiction, smut or not.

LawnGnome

Gotta do what makes most sense for you! Certainly appreciate the upfrontness about the situation, instead of just falling silent like so many projects woefully do.

The writing in Expansion Mansion was pretty unique and great. In my opinion it was the best part about it so I think moving more towards writing will work out well for ya.
