MV Alpha 2

Whelp, I'm tired. I'm uploading where the game is. You can get further than before, and the placeholder is now gone, but it's still not the full prologue. My guess is you will crash in either the 2nd hills area or the crossroads before town. Like the last one, this is more meant for seeing progress and testing to help me find crashes. Eventually, I'll post a non-alpha version and for those who'd rather not test for crashes, that'll be the one to play. There will be one of those this month...

Edit 1: Re-uploaded a fixed version for the crash on getting the potato sack. I'd went through and deleted a bunch of extra sprites and renamed the ones in use to make better sense. I thought I'd changed all the spots in the game to point to the new names, but I missed the one equip line in the starting cutscene. Ugh, it is fixed. Thanks.

Edit 2: Another re-upload. All the move events should be fixed. Resolved the issue with the foreman's hut and bunkhouse being a black screen (I think).

There will probably be one more alpha, and it won't be a bugfest this go around for most of it. I'm sure there will be at least a few bugs in the town area though, there are a LOT of things to test and I'll probably miss something.

Love the artwork, but man that was a bugfest: - changing the morale with the grave leads to constant crashes (doesn't matter if morale +1 or -1), especially when entering a building - after escaping the menu you get "man this potato sack is ichy" instead of a blank text - the walls in the miners bankhouse and the following are are non-existent for the most parts, meaning you can run straight through them...

Great artwork, but still quite a few bugs that need working. It's great that you released this to get sight of them and fix them. Artwork is brilliant and I love Bogwort's character. Can't wait for the official release. All the bugs I experienced have been said above - I also got a filename instead of the name of the gem when Aliya got it from the wall after getting the chisel. Otherwise I think that's everything. I could only get to the second forest screen though before it crashed, so can't say what's beyond that.

It's an alpha, and not public. It's been quite useful to identify and fix all the bugs actually. Both these alphas have really drove home that I'd like to release alphas for people who want to test and find problems. I mean, I'm sure it would have had fewer issues had I held it off to test further... Do you want a mac version? Not sure it's worth the hassle if the mac version is fighting you.

Important dev lesson here: Never release a public beta when you're tired, because it's going to immediately result in public beta testers performing a public beta test. Always wait for morning, do one more round of testing, *then* release.
