Upcoming Release Information - Changelog

Hello again. It's time for an official release date. As you can see, MV 0.10 will drop on May 36th. Now, some of my astute patrons might question whether May has 36 days, but I assure you, on YummyTiger's calendar, there are 36 days in May! :-)

Jokes aside, given that we are about a week away, I want to reiterate the plan of attack. The next release will be the MV port of the prologue and is NOT a charged update. I'm hoping this will provide a more in-depth test of the MV setup and identify any issues I've missed. This release will be followed up by MV 0.15 later in June (hopefully not June 36th). I'm aware that it has been years since a release, and I'm aware that this won't be a huge release worthy of five years of work. I'm not sure I could meet those standards, even had I done everything right--which I didn't. The reality is that Aylia's Story is a mishmash of content that's been created on-and-off for years between two different versions of RPG Maker. A few months back, I decided it was time to push forward and put a sizable amount of money into music, scripts, UI artwork, and other assets to get things rolling. The MV version is a new beginning for a game that never really got off the ground the first time around. So, I am reminding everyone to temper your expectations and try to enjoy the game for what it is, not what it should be after 5 years. It's not what it should be after 5 years, but it's not dead. I can only work over the next year to can rebuild your trust and prove worthy of the support you've given me by giving you a damn good game. For you, me and Bogwort!

MV 0.10 - Changelog:
- Custom scripts migrated to MV for menus, quest journal, map functions, etc.

- Standing portraits increased to larger resolution and improved where necessary.

- Every CG resolution increased and a couple redrawn.

- New music commissioned and added.

- Maps reworked for MV, a couple maps required completely recreating.

- Dialogue cleaned up in places and tweaked to fit the overall narrative created over the years. A number of consistency issues were fixed.

- Story mode added and framework put in place to allow players to switch between modes at certain break points. NOTE: 0.10 will not contain a working battle system as I still need those commissions finished.

- (50/50 on if it gets added in time for the release) First Bogwort/Aylia night event added back into the game with new artwork. If it doesn't make it for 0.10, it will 100% be in 0.15.

Thank you!

It appears it has at least 168 hours and counting... shit.

Around 36. The guy working on JS scripts with me is available all day tomorrow (Sunday), and there is a script I'd like to include but had already written it off before talking to him yesterday. So, I'll probably try to get that in there, but we'll see where things are at tonight. I've been putting a shitload of time into it, but there always seems like so much more to do.

Just to be sure, how many hours does the 36th of May have?

Darian

As a kid I liked the book The 35th of May, or Conrad's Ride to the South Seas soo I'll look forward too the 36th. . Yeah, not much new content for several years of work but quite frankly: I'll take it. Especially the imprved art.

Sen'Dschini

Moved up then, I thought it was coming out on April the 4th of September

Lee Thompson

*Waits patiently for May 36th*

Darthjake

Expectations are tempered appropriately, but I'm still excited at the idea of the game getting momentum.

Ordering plenty of red ink refills!

Thanks. There are three things that I will make sure are in the game. Dynamic events, lots of minor map exploration events to liven up RPG Maker, and combat with sexy ramifications. Those three are part of the reason I started this. Virgin Island was a big inspiration and it succeeds in doing some of that.

Looking forward to May 36th!

Starfish

Was just messing around with your old game, and I gotta say your combat ideas were amazing, past the art I really thought it was your best stuff.

Sybsidian

We still support you!

Keep it up! Looking forward to the MV Version.
