Cisco 7206 from 1996

I'm 37 minutes into the next video covering this Cisco 7206 router and there is no end in sight. Might end up being my longest video yet. Hoping to get a T1 connection going between this guy and at least one other Cisco router.

It turned out great! Loved your Connections Museum shirt too 👍

Very cool. I definitely want to get some ATM connectivity going with these 7200s.

thanks!

Back in my ISP days we had a 7513, a 5500, and a 7200 as our core handling ATM coming in and DSL going out to our subscribers.

I had to join up after seeing the lineup of hardware awaiting videos. It looks like it’s going to be a great year!

John Kiniston

yes! definitely going to get some ATM modules for this thing.

What a legend. Excited to see a token ring network working again. For a later day once you've mastered the token ring setup - check out ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) - it was the backbone of the backbone of the internet in that era. This 7200 supports several of those modules. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/network/3-8/reference/guide/atm.html

I think it's working, a few drinks down and suddenly this thing has stopped boot-looping.

clabretro

I think I read somewhere that if you sit there and stare at it, usually with a drink in hand, it just starts working. Maybe worth a shot who knows
