Now I'm wondering where Japan got the idea that kobolds were dogs, since as I mentioned before, all anime, games, and manga/light novels portray them that way. One of the light novels I'm currently reading, Strongest Gamer:Let's Play In Another World features an extremely moe half kobold girl in it and yes her kobold form is a furry dog girl. She's kind of how I've been imagining Tilly all this time but maybe I should be thinking Kana from Dragon Maid instead?

I'm not going to say I'm an expert on mythological creatures but I have consumed a large amount of fantasy games, anime, manga etc and kobolds to my knowledge are always portrayed as bipedal dog monsters. Tilly, being a female kobold should therefore resemble a more demonic version of your typical dog girl waifu but you've described her as dragon like with scales and horns. Sounds more like a wingless dragonnewt or a female lizardman with horns. I've never seen or heard of a kobold that was scaly instead of fluffy. Where'd you get the idea for that?
