Joe - being the John Candy fan that you are doing you may remember one of his Late Night with David Letterman appearances where Dom DeLuise barged in ( he was probably across the hall doing NBC New York's Live at Five show ) He comes in, audience applause and comes behind Candy, put his face next to his, cheek-to-cheek, mugs for a minute. Candy, being the nice guy he was, goes along with it but it seems like Dom's whole bit was " We're both fat ... so we look alike ! " Then he leaves ( more applause ) and John and Dave have an awkward little exchange, it ends with Dave asking John " Do you know him ? " and Candy replying " Never met the man "
