February P.O. Box Pickups!

Hey everyone, here's what was sent to the PO box over the last month. Thanks to everyone who mailed us something! Even if you didn't send anything in, I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of these movies in the comments. I'll definitely be checking out a few of the Burt Reynolds movies that Joker sent for the next catch-up so leave some recs.

I'm also using this an excuse to plug the three Kino Lorber BluRays (Hot Pursuit, Summer Rental, Uncle Buck) that I did audio commentaries for as they are all out now!

You guys never answered when I asked if sending you some Grade A LSD would be appreciated. My dealer is the daughter of a member of the Detroit Partnership (mafia), so its good stiluff, not some ghetto wack goofballs.

May I suggest Loose Cannons? It also has everyone's favorite: Dan Aykroyd

I'm pretty sure my dad and brother saw it in the theater. I wasn't attending movie theaters back then (long story, but tied to the trailer for the Jim Carrey movie "The Mask") but ultimately for the best cause even 11-year old me couldn't sanction the buffoonery of most of the movies aimed at kids in those days. I always had more "expensive taste" lol.

In memory of Gene Hackman, y'all should watch 3 Gene Hackman movies next month.... But make em deep cuts, please!

The only thing I remember about Mr. Magoo was Leslie’s awful hair and him getting a fake Yakuza tattoo.

I put on Stick. It starts off really awesome, great camerawork too. Some weird casting, though. George Segal is always great, but the bad guys are more Cannonball Run than Jackie Brown. Also, their constant, yet futile, attempts to get over how hot Murphy Brown is makes me chuckle.

Burt and Liza.... I'm sure that was a very loud set. Honestly though, "Rentacop" existing is so weird.

JP

Yup but Elmore didn't like what Burt did to his story, (Also Burt directed that movie)

Without looking it up, I'm assuming Stick is based on the Elmore Leonard story.

Side note Heat was Directed by Dick Richards, the child in me is very happy to know there is a guy with the name "Dick Dick"
