I hate liking this.

The Long Good Friday shows how much the United Kingdom has changed in my lifetime. Now, the Docklands is filled with modern skyscrapers, and the IRA has ended its armed struggle. Today, making a crime movie set in East London where the criminal gang members are white Brits would be a laughably inaccurate representation of the area and the city in general. The movie is a snapshot of something that no longer exists, but existed in living memory.

Trevor Poe

Brosnan was in The King's Daughter, man, playing the King of France no less. Roger Moore has nothing to be embarrassed about.

Lux Anatis

The Ghost Writer is a pretty good Brosnan if you aren't turned off by Polanski directing.

I’m an Apple Music guy, they bent me over and I’m not proud.

97Brawl

I've never even seen it, I'm just making fun of RedLetterMedia's glowing recommendation simply to amuse myself. I would chainsaw both of my arms off before I subscribed to another streaming service.

Lux Anatis

A required romp.

THANK YOU! They all blur together sometimes

The Cable Guy pairs one loquacious peddler of pay television, in the form of that bastion of derrière discourse James Carrey, with Matthew Broderick's névrosé everyman of adrift muse, climaxing in a catamaran of gleeful humor, sailing on the windy wiry sea of comedic sagacity. Bravo, younger Stiller! Bravo!

Don’t forget about Boat Trip

I get where you’re coming from, and I’m not going to pretend this show is breaking the mold. I just love the alternate-universe surrounding the show and I think it deserves a watch from everyone. I’m also an absolute sucker for old cars and mid-century modern/brutalist designs. Stiller roped we in with my weaknesses.

97Brawl

Office as an allegory for something is always smart despite never having been done before.

Lux Anatis

Dragon's Lair but with cars.

Lux Anatis

HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER was the Clint film where he helps a town deal with criminals but the town soon regrets his assistance. PALE RIDER is similar but is a bit softer. DRIFTER is fantastic.

Loved the episode but Ryan man, you’re just wrong. Severance is great and that intro sequence was one of my favorite parts of the new season. I also have no idea what you’re talking about out with Adam Scott, at least not yet. If he starts showing up in every other movie and Marvel slop, then I’ll start to agree. Joe, watch Severance.

97Brawl

While we're at it, Roger Moore is a serious blind spot for me, and I'm kinda surprised at where his career went post Bond, you would figure James Bond wouldn't go as low as Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. Also today I learn he inspired the most Mom Tier Ice Cream bar ever the Walls Magnum

Or either of the Stuntman games.

100% that dude was a serial killer

So Joe -- you say you'd be interested to chat to these people 😅 Some years ago I found myself in a bar with a friend, late in Sydney. We were talking to a guy who claimed he was Spec Ops and started showing us a bunch of horrendous gore photos on his phone that were allegedly his kills from missions he'd been on. It's entirely possible that he was full of shit and just had a bunch of LiveLeak style stuff stored on his phone, but it creeped me out intensely. He then tried to start a fight with my friend, and I had to drag us both out of there. Probably just a kook -- but a dangerous one and not someone I would care to spend time with again 💀

Tom Goodwin

I have nothing really to add, but felt the need to express how happy I am to hear Joe is a fan of The Killers. And I felt exactly the same way during that final shot with the rear view mirror. I actually did say out loud, "God, I love movies." Then my wife took the seashells out of her ears and said, "What?" I knew I liked you guys.

Lux Anatis

Brosnan’s filmography has been a bit of a blind spot for me. Not sure why because I liked him the few films of his I saw. For some reason I always remember his part in The World’s End. It was also nice seeing Hyde in The Brutalist, even if it was a relatively small part. He was the sane guy in a place full of hot-heads.

The Film Smith

I'm shaking my head at you, Steve.

Lux Anatis

Never say never.

Ryan Lancello

Never heard of it but looking it up looks a bit trippy. Not that I'd expect Ryan to go out of the way play a video game but I think he'd probably like Disco Elysium, the best written game Ive ever played and its basically an interactive novel my grandmother could figure it out

Steven Trotter

When Julian is talking about living wherever he works I thought the same thing.

Lux Anatis

I'd pay for the cost of the game if Joe and Ryan would stream themselves playing Lorelei and the Laser Eyes to completion.

Lux Anatis

We're turning this into a Lets Play channel Baby

Steven Trotter

Here we go again

Lux Anatis

I actually played Everything or Nothing. Loved that game! I also really enjoyed the From Russia with Love game

Almost Cult Classics

Joe kinda surprised you never played any of the PS2/Xbox era Pierce Brosnan Bond video games. Agent Under Fire, NightFire, and Everything or Nothing. All pretty decent games with non movie related stories

Steven Trotter

I was literally thinking the same thing about its similarities with planes trains and automobiles while I was watching it.

Luke Gordnier

You know what's weird earlier today I was thinking, "Man I haven't experienced a good thunderstorm in years" use to headbang outside in the rain as a teenager
