Also speaking of Overboard I gave the "remake" a watch 1.) It's more of a sequel because they reference the first movie like it happened, and 2.) Is it bad I kinda enjoy Anna over Kurt, maybe it's because I grew up with a on again off again single mom, or it's because Kurt was a terrible father in that movie

JokersJuicyAss

It usually is.

Ryan Lancello

Interesting to hear it's been getting a podcast reappraisal! I think it really has the makings of a true cult classic

Almost Cult Classics

Probably more something I'd cover on Hats Off

Almost Cult Classics

We may do this one!

Almost Cult Classics

I'll have to check those movies out!

I live by Bulworth and have sex with only black people.

Louie Caponecchia

I actually got confused because I watched that, and now when seeing they did Bulworth here, I got them confused and thought I already heard it

Louie Caponecchia

I always forget this movie exists.

Ghetto Superstar is my generation’s Islands in the Stream.

Loved the episode on something I haven't thought about it forever haha. Barely related, but it reminded me of a couple of great movies I've been thinking about lately: Save the Tiger with Jack Lemmon and The Swimmer with Burt Lancaster. Just middle-aged stars at the end of their leading man days doing really thought-provoking, surreal indictments on the bullshittery of society while really doing a 180 and engaging in the culture of the youth. I just love the idea of one character moving from situation to situation like some sort of epic, but just being like "what the fuck is happening?"

Thomas Bishop

I recently learn Farva was the Bus Driver in that

Overboard is one of the few movies we had on VHS when I was young so I've seen it 538 times. Love it though. Kurt is so great he can even make his common-law wife Goldie Hawn loveable.

Thomas Bishop

You definitely should check out The Best of Times for the Kurt show - him and Robin Williams together in a terrific small town football drama. It’s so good!

Heath Chamerski

How about Sky High for Kurt Russell?

Tom Goodwin

Overboard might be good for Christmas with Kurt you guys get to talk about that Synth Bluegrass theme it has

JokersJuicyAss

Who's going to remember Black Panther even 5 years from now? Even hamfisted late 90s shit like this is gold I'm comparison

Steven Trotter

Strange how movies like this go totally forgotten while total fantasy like Black Panther is universally celebrated.

Lux Anatis

Or maybe even the two movies in which the guy actually played Santa Claus.

Ryan, your observation about people having "memed" jokes into reality re: you and your friends and your ironic "bros" is actually a partial explanation of the hipster movement we're still dealing with today. You quite literally contributed to what my favorite Simpsons moment summed up perfectly. https://youtu.be/udJw-CzX7sA?si=qzbqP68fFtVwW6Mz

Lux Anatis

Wag The Dog is one of those movies that I think actually hurt society in the long run just because now when ANYTHING happens people claim it's a "Wag the Dog" event

SilverHairedMiddleAgedTuxedoMask

Podcast like it's the 1990s did an episode on Bulworth for Election Day this year, too.

JP

You know another film based Youtube channel called This Aged Great also released a (much much shorter) video on Bullworth today. What's up with that trippy coincidence

Steven Trotter

Excited for Christmas with Kirk! Next year you guys should do 29th street, just watch it over the weekend and really enjoyed it.
