I like spice

Ryan Lancello

Well you should've sent them Lollipop Chainsaw before they did their episode on Super.

Lux Anatis

You guys should check out the book "Best. Movie. Year. Ever.: How 1999 Blew Up the Big Screen" by Brian Raftery. - Seth

Ryan you seem more like no spice Jerky, stuff you would give to a baby

JokersJuicyAss

Cool. The whole reason I even listen to you guys and others like you is because I've reached a point in my life where I can't really talk to anyone about movies and the culture surrounding them anymore. I'm a school teacher and have a standing offer for extra credit for any of my students who write reviews of the movies they might see, which, in addition to my own kids, is about the extent of my film discussions these days. Listening to two smart people talking about movies reminds me of the days I was a manager for Blockbuster Video and the interactions I'd instigate with my customers.

Lux Anatis

I like comments, everyone should comment more. Good or bad, love or hate, irrelevant or interesting, doesn’t matter, I enjoy it.

Ryan Lancello

Renting N64 and PS1 games from Hollywood video on a Friday night are probably some of the least tainted memories I've ever had, dontt let these fuckers shit on that Ramoni. Just walking around the store and seeing the displays and smelling the carpet was half the fun

Steven Trotter

My favorite fact about Whatzupwitu is that is samples the best song from Prince’s worst movie/soundtrack (Thieves in the Temple from Graffiti Bridge) Party all the Time is an all-time classic. Rick James sure could write some good stuff!!

Mary and Steve

They were a unique and refreshing voice I feel have softened their act in recent years after becoming too aware of both their fanbase and the culture surrounding YouTube. I still enjoy their stuff, but where they have lost their edge Joe and Ryan are more willing to be honest. At this point watching RedLetterMedia with the preconceived notion that they have nothing new to say would be like watching John Carpenter's Halloween for the first time in 2024 after it was allowed decades of influence on the genre.

Lux Anatis

I didn’t no and I’m happy I do now

Luke Gordnier

Wait so you didn't know about Party of the Time? Because Eddie did have a successful RnB career, like this was a big hit https://youtu.be/iWa-6g-TbgI

Welp I'm glad that my view of writing matches what you guys like in a creative, because for that book I'm writing, I know it's not going to make money, if people actually read and review it they will have a field day because I'm not a professional writer, I'm a fucking Shopping Cart Pusher, and I do not care, I just want to get the book made and to physically have a copy of it. WARNING LONG OFF TOPIC RANT ABOUT SOMEONE MORE FAMOUS AND TALENTED THAN ME Meanwhile someone's like Charlie Kaufman who is a funny writer I'm not going to act like he isn't, the guy has done way more than me, but his had this movie idea called Frank or Francis and while I was doing some research (AKA I saw a Iceberg video and that was brought up) he was pissy during a interview about how the audience doesn't want something new, and that stays with me because he has failed to both be a Hollywood Hack because he's caring about making something that might not make money but also fails at being a artist because too much about the money. And this wouldn't stick in my brain so much if it wasn't for the fact that Frank or Francis sounds awful, like if that movie came out it would've been in the last movie catch up in between I Love You Daddy and Fool's Paradise as another shit Hollywood Satire (To I remind you he already wrote 2002's Adaptation) and the idea sounds annoying a Musical about early 2010s Internet Movie Forums and they were going to take a knock against Michael Bay which far enough it's early 2010s but about Pearl Harbor Michael Bay which was a decade old, nobody was talking about that when the Transformers movies were the internet's punching bag at the time.

Joe you think that's bad, try growing up in Deposit New York, the only notable guy from there was from dude in the 1800s who tried to run for President, he didn't get far. Anyone else notable from there is either my dad because in the 1990s if your family had a Chevy Tahoe that had its catalytic converter stolen when they went to Binghamton New York that was him, or me if that book I'm working on goes anywhere.

JokersJuicyAss

Speaking of Eddie, I discover recently that he tried to have a Rnb career for a bit and discovered this song he made that features Micheal Jackson https://youtu.be/9u3KarGkwiI?si=D-TTP3RWidmc4Ggm

Luke Gordnier

SHIT Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost Came out in 1999!

JokersJuicyAss

Speaking of Black Nerds it's so weird how under rep they are because not only black nerds are very much a thing you can picture multiple different versions of them. Like you got the 1950s Poindexter with the flat top and glasses, the LARPer in a homemade wizard outfit, and the big guy who's a weeb.

JokersJuicyAss

Fuck now I wish I sent you guys Detroit Rock City because that's also another 1999 movie, plus I do like Kiss (I mean I love Hair Metal and Kiss basically created Hair Metal) and Panthera did a cover of Cat Scratch Fever by someone you forgot to bring up for Nothing but Trouble Ted the Nuge, the Axemaster who gets more wang dang sweet poontang than Lazlo but then again don't we all. As you can tell GTA Vice City Stories' Vrock kinda not only ruined my music taste but also ruined my humor

JokersJuicyAss

Personally if they were to talk about video games I got some OG XBOX stuff they can talk about, Scarface, Test Drive Eve of Destruction, Crimson Skies, Stuntman, but I'm also aware that video games are much longer than films, the story doesn't always matter, and even if the story is 10/10 if the gameplay sucks it will ruin it for you

JokersJuicyAss

Also Joe if I were to, I will make sure it's seasoned with some good seasonings, extra spicy like Ghost Pepper spicy

JokersJuicyAss

I hope to god Joe sees me as the dirty sweat covered Hick that I am, like if we're in the same room Joe is thinking, "He is going to turn me into Jerky."

JokersJuicyAss

I have not watch one second of RedLetterMedia mainly because they seem like another review channel of bad movies where they say nothing new. Is that right or am I completely wrong?

JokersJuicyAss

Good to see the spirit of Tony Clifton alive and well, isn't it? If you're not familiar with On Cinema I highly suggest you check out their Oscar Specials, of which the best are free on YouTube. As much of a terrible tragedy it is that TDS destroyed Tim Heideckers brain, I think you'll appreciate his character's unique brand of confused anger. All the best!

Lux Anatis

Great episode, guys. I hope my multiple comments don't come across as annoying or pathetic, but then I guess you haven't publicly judged Joker yet, so I'm I'm in the clear. In any case I'm officially offering my completely unsubstantiated services for your table read of Joe's script here and now. My students will get a real kick out of it at the very least. Keep up the good work, guys. You are a unique and interesting voice in this scene completely free of the baggage that inevitably comes with Internet fame. Stay honest!

Lux Anatis

Saw him open for Tim and Eric as Neil Hamburger years ago.

Ryan Lancello

Ha!!! I'm one of those "some people' who absolutely cannot abide you talking about video games and it's because I myself have been into them since the Atari 2600. I cannot stand the culture of the "gamer" and how it's infected every aspect of entertainment media. Call me old fashioned, but I miss the days when video games had absolutely no cache whatsoever and were exclusively the domain of children and the fringe. Everytime Joe talks about Uncharted and whatever scam Bethesda is running at the moment I just hang my head. I just can't abide yet another avenue being sullied by it. And I'm typing this as my game of Catherine: Full Body is paused on my Nintendo Switch. Movies and video game have made each other worse.

Lux Anatis

Ryan, in this episode you literally, and I mean literally in the originally intention of the word, channeled Gregg Turkington's On Cinema character when he considered the cinema to be his church.

Lux Anatis

Speaking of Jaime Kennedy, I think his documentary Heckler has now topped Young Einstein as my most wanted episode from you two. I would LOVE to hear what Ryan thinks of that.

Lux Anatis

Not only did you mention me, but you mentioned a response to one of my comments on YouTube. I stand by my assessment of you guys vs RedLetterMedia! And I don't think either of you are the Webster's definition of pretentious, maybe just the internet's.

Lux Anatis

It was actually brain grazer that suggested Eddie Murphy to Steve Martin cause they were coming off working on boomerang, nutty professor and life.

Luke Gordnier

Really glad you guys did this episode because it inspired me to check out what about Bob for the first time. I really enjoyed and it’s definitely my favorite frank oz.

Luke Gordnier

Oh boy new episodes can't wait to see what's next on Ryan's top 10
