Monthly Reward Story! (Suggestion Call!)
Added 2021-01-06 02:17:56 +0000 UTCHey kids, Bless Their Heart's last part is going to be up by the end of the week (along with Coven of Calahree pt 3 and the December Mix & Match) BUT here's the thing:
Due to February being an End of Game Special round for the Mix and Match stories (with an increased wordcount of 3000 words!) I'm going to abdicate the Monthly Reward story for that month.
Which means that JANUARY is gonna have a single 2000+ word reward story for you guys, and I'm fishing for ideas!
It can be about anything! Post your suggestions here in the comments section. I'll pick my favorites from both sites, and I'll make a poll for everyone to vote on.

My idea runs in a similiar direction as Kestrel's, except with a more mythological take. In an alternate world where mythological creatures exist a young harpy decides her home on the isle of Arpia has gotten too small for her and sets out to travel the world. This is against the wishes of her tribe's elders who warn her that no harpy who visits human lands ever returns. Turns out they weren't just being traditionalist buzzkills when they said that. A harpy's metabolism isn't exactly adjusted to the abundace of junk and fast food of the modern era. Before they know what's happening they're too fat to fly home.
2021-01-07 21:12:13 +0000 UTCI've always loved "fish out of water" stories that call attention to the absurdity of modern fast food/diet culture. <i>Elf-san wa Yaserarenai</i> or your old <i>Stranded</i> spring to mind as particularly good examples. In that vein, I'm imagining a story about someone from the past being dropped into the present day à la the <i>Fate</i> series or even <i>Bill and Ted</i> for a lighter tone. We take for granted just how different modern diets are, so the culture shock could be a lot of fun.

Something happens where they switch minds, so the fat one’s “mind” is now in the thin one. She doesn’t really want to exercise and maintains her old habits, people notice and commentbut her thin version’s family doesn’t seem to mind. When they switch back, the thin “mind” in the fat one adopted her fat counterparts behaviors so it ends with both of them returning to their original bodies but both are fat.
