On the subject of Shane talking about being gay and HIV-positive, there is one three part mini-series that you absolutely have to watch if you haven’t already! It’s called ”Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar” (”Don’t Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves”). It was made in 2012 if memory serves, and it follows a group of gay friends during the 80ies when HIV and AIDS came to Sweden, focusing in particular on the love story between its two leads. It’s a fantastic mini-series (actually very fitting to watch around Christmas because the holiday plays a big part in the story) and IMHO an absolute must-watch. I know it aired on BBC 4 back in the day so it is available on DVD and BluRay with English subtitles.
