We have our first Swedish Film of Film Friday. I'm so excited to watch some actual movies with you guys. Make sure you're comfortable for this one :)

Ahh ok so it's a lot easier to follow if you know about Swedish culture and Swedish people. I got some of the comedy because it is similar to British shows in the 80s.

2023-08-19 08:07:06 +0000 UTCYeah I feel like I missed a lot of the jokes, it was difficult for me to follow everything lol! But its very similar to classic UK movies like the Carry On franchise. So I get why it's popular.

2023-08-19 05:34:21 +0000 UTCI haven't seen this since the 90'ies and had forgotten how slow it is. It IS a staple of Swedish comedy but it's not so much about jokes as it is about Swedish stereotypes. All the characters are based on some classic stereotypes. I guess many jokes didn't make sense for non-Swedes. They do get funnier. We get to follow Ole Bramserud (the Norwegian) and Stig Helmer partnering up for new adventures.
