The Digital Doomsday Has Arrived

The Digital Doomsday of Jurassic Park is now live on ArTorr!

At the outset of editing my previous video on the Indiana Jones sequels, I began to consider making a video that would address and support the 2023 WGA strike against the AMPTP (at the time the SAG-AFTRA strike had not yet started). Writing is obviously very important to me, and I wanted to find some way to shed a light on the exploitation of working artists through a piece of media comprehensive enough to explore the issue to the fullest. Jurassic Park was not my first idea to talk about this. But after opening Twitter the morning of June 21st to read headlines about a supposed "AI-generated intro sequence" to Marvel Studios's Secret Invasion, the video underwent a sudden shift-- and took shape quickly after. Revisiting an idea I scribbled down while researching Steven Spielberg's career about the "digital revolution of film" brought on by Jurassic Park, my next video would explore something at the very heart of the long, rolling technological evolution of film: the exploitation of spectacle, technology, and people. The existential peril of SAG-AFTRA actors and artists exploited by AI that would unfold in real-time over the next several weeks of writing the video would only confirm the terrifying sentiments conveyed by Jurassic Park.

Work on the video was spread out over several hectic months. And all the while, you were supporting me on Patreon. I've never been more grateful or humbled by your generosity than I am now at the very end of what ended up being a tumultuous creative process. I say it often, but seriously: thank you for your support. I'll always cherish it, especially as I now fully set my sights on the next video, which will be officially announced next week.

As usual, I will be rolling out some behind-the-scenes goodies related to the video over the next few weeks. This will include...

I also want to denote all the ways your support over the last few months made a difference in the making of The Digital Doomsday of Jurassic Park. Through Patreon, your donations were used for:

If you aren't yet a supporter of my page, even just a dollar makes a difference for me. In exchange, you'll get to see your name in the credits of the next upload. Otherwise, thank you all for reading, and stay tuned for later this week-- a BIG update is coming to the channel and the Patreon. If you know, you know ;) Adios!
