It is a very Jekyll and Hyde situation. 🥲 So unfortunate. I really enjoy Andrew.

Thank you!

That's a great way of seeing it.

I lean towards Rosalind, as well. Even though I'm usually very optimistic, I am also realistic. It's been a while since we had Skye being all "everyone is BAD" that I honestly forgot she has her reservations with big orgs. I would agree that purely on an acting/performance basis, Iain and Elizabeth are the best.

I definitely appreciate the groundwork giving more insight into the politics of the movies.

Hunter: I’m just gonna say what we’re all thinking: he has a hog face. Fitz: yeah, he definitely has a hog face. Me: the adventures of the Brit and the Scot. And there you have it folks. The motion is passed unanimously.

When I saw this episode for the first time, I got emotional. I practically almost felt what Fitz was feeling just from watching Simmons’ vlogs. This shows how much they mean to each other at the end of the day and how much they were wanting to be more. Something else I wanted to point out is the whole situation with Andrew and Lash. I know that Daisy’s father Calvin Johnson turned into Mr. Hyde in the season 2 finale, but I really feel like Andrew and Lash lean more into the whole Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde aspect than Cal alone did. The worst part about it is that Andrew is aware that he did something. That trait continues when he transforms into Lash. One example is Lash saying that he is the cure even as Andrew was still listening to Coulson.

The FitzSimmons stuff was the C-plot this episode, and it still was the highlight for me. 😅 Great episode, fun reaction.

Great review you hit all the points well, but you forgot the most important one.... Mack "I really need to get on that shotgun axe !" lol I personally think Fitz waiting to see the sunrise with Simmons instead of answering 'where do we go from here' was him saying enjoy the moment since its why you were here and what you missed when you were gone for 4722 hours ect.

Lots of emotion this episode. Poor May! At least at the start of the episode, it's very hard to determine which parts of what Andrew's saying are coming from his psychiatric training, and what's coming from Lash - some of it is pretty measured and reasonable, like saying that Daisy is being seduced by her own experiences. Personally, I'd lean more towards Rosalind's viewpoint - whilst I think the ATCU are for the most part much too hardline in their approach (with their lack of qualms regarding the use of lethal force), Daisy's is just too idealistic for the real world. Daisy is (understandably) very militant about the ATCU, and whilst I do think that it's partly due to their methods, I also think there's also a deeper reason that fits with her personality traits from before she became Inhuman. When we meet her, she's deeply distrusting of institutions like SHIELD, and that doesn't seem to have really gone away - she trusts SHIELD now, but initially that's due to Coulson, and later her experiences with the team. We saw back in 3x04 that she still has conspiratorial tendencies, so I think the fact that the ATCU is a government institution means she's already suspicious as a baseline - their behaviour and beliefs are just exacerbating that. I do like Hunter's behaviour with Fitz regarding Will over these last couple of episodes - firstly, it's funny, but secondly, to me he's not acting out of malice towards Will, but rather just being the best friend, buoying Fitz's feelings (although I do suspect there are some underlying personal feelings that Hunter hasn't dealt with as well). Regarding Iain and Elizabeth's acting - I don't think it's uncommon amongst AoS fans to be of the opinion that Iain and Elizabeth are the best two actors in the cast. TBH, I'm of the opinion that AoS not only has great main actors, but they also get really good guest and recurring actors, so I'm not digging on the rest of the cast, but if I *had* to rank them, Iain and Elizabeth would share the top spot

Love your thoughts on the different sides of the powered people argument and it is another reason why these smaller MCU shows really lay the groundwork for the government responses in the movies. The Netflix shows are more grounded with the public point of view directly told to us through DD,JJ, and Luke Shield shows both the public and dives deeper into the government involvement with controlling powered people. The movies then tackle public powered figures like the Avengers. It truly sucks what happened to Andrew but I think May handled it the best way she could and your face when you realize that she shot Andrew to kill was perfect. She is not called the Calvary for nothing. Of course the Fitzsimmons scenes are always so great and you definitely noticed how much they are holding back because of the Will situation. Malick and Rosalind are working together another twist after the Lash twist last episode. This show loves to keep you on your toes lol.
