He does have that old school mafia vibe and good point about Fisk not being community involved but Cottonmouth is.

Truth. Maybe he will eventually have something to drive him!

You make a valid point. Definitely think there will be less action in this show, but that's okay!

With Luke Cage being a Netflix show keeping the language they use during the show makes sense but also having the main star acknowledge he doesnt care for that word also shows that it isn't needed but as viewer you have to understand its said quite a lot amongst their peers.
I like the story and seeing a different side of the city and its sad seeing a good man die to force Cage to become the hero he wants him to be, But honestly the series could easily end with one episode of Cage going rage mode, eventhough he wont. So in a way I find it hard seeing it last 9 episodes if a guy like cage cant die or get hurt could just roll up and take out everyone if he wanted. But he's such a nice centered guy I know theres a background story and he will have to control his anger so I guess I'll have to watch it play out.

Cottonmouth's own motto sets the tone for him. "Everyone wants to be the king." He wants it, but he's no Wilson Fisk. He is a fun antagonist though and the street-level deals and hits makes the show feel so grounded and real. The big difference between Cottonmouth and Fisk is that Cottonmouth has Mariah almost coaching him but no one's really driving him other than his own ego while Fisk had his love Vanessa driving him and giving him something to fight for always.
So sad Pop died so soon! He seemed like such a lovable and interesting person who fought hard to get to where he was. He cared about his people and his community. Good people always get cut down too soon.
Side note, Crispus Attucks was in fact a real person who was the first person killed in the Boston Massacre. That event sparked the American Revolution.

I wish Luke could extend his shielding powers like Venom so he could have saved everyone...but I also love that, in the moment, he shielded the youngest, most innocent life he could...even though it meant losing Pop.
Cottonmouth is an interesting antagonist...reminds me more of the old school mafia types. Expensive suit, has his club, nice things, etc. ...but is also out in the community...a part of it. Hasn't forgotten his roots completely...which reminds me of all of the high-ups in the Five Families and the Chicago mob over the years who were murdered in restaurants, barber shops, flower shops, etc. because they were part of their communities. Fisk, for all his talk of NYC being his city...he is detached from it in a way that Stokes is not. Stokes also believes in the "rules" of the life...that there are places and people that are off limits...and family first...which reminds me of the mobster Ben was speaking with in the first season of Daredevil who mentioned that the new guys (Fisk and his associates) didn't really play by the same set of rules that the Families did.

Some people chill and watch Netflix. Luke gets coffee.

Tone was too big for his britches. Oh and that shot of Cottonmouth tossing him was so cool.

Turk being Turk. He has been in all the Marvel Netflix shows you have watched so far. Last time we saw him he almost got his foot cut off by the hand after he activated the device because of Karen.
Hilarious that he considers that safer then Harlem. I guess it is because he knows everyone in hell's kitchen even Daredevil so it is safer then dealing with strangers who he doesn't know what they are capable.
Rip Pops. In a hero story you will always have them refuse the call to adventure until there is a incident that forces them to act.
Luke is now focused on Mariah and Cottonmouth. More specifically the money they took from Chico.

The lady singing in the Cottonmouth’s club is Faith Evans. She is the widow of Notorious B.I.G.
