Excellent!

Don't think someone mentioned it, but I may have missed it, that the stash of guns Frank found in the cabin were Clancy's Blacksmith character. He just won't be needing them anymore. 😁

Thadman

I'm stoked for better seasons!

kaiielle

I'm so excited!

Thanks for the reaction. Season 2 wasn’t that great. The seasons get a whole lot better in my opinion. The Punisher was the best of Season 2. I guess you and Matt can’t get together, he won’t kill for you lol. There probably only 2 people I would kill for, My mom and dad 😃😃

Perry Campbell

"There's no such thing as a Black Sky" he says, underneath a black sky. Frank going home was damn brave of him. And briefly hearing the sound of children laughing just adds to the reality of his kids being gone...nothing but memories. Matt after Elektra dies - "Well...shit. Karen, you still available?" Nobu: You shoulda gone for the head. Stick: Stay down, you piece of shit. Intriguing finale. Can't wait til you see where it's leading :D

"Will he have to defend Matt one day?" Maybe!

kaiielle

I can understand your complaints, for sure. I'm not necessarily expecting Karen and Matt to become a thing, I'm just thrilled she finally knows. NGL, didn't really notice time in this season! But now that you point it out... Appreciate the video!

kaiielle

Me again calling Matt out on his bullshit... I HATE that after that scene with Elektra where they were about to face death and he's all "let's run away together..." that she gets killed and he does what???? Oh, he calls up the woman he put in second place. She's not a consolation prize, Bub...she's the all-inclusive grand prize. Too little, too late. Yes, Karen deserved some truth...but if things had gone differently with Elektra...would Matt have even dropped by to say bye before he left town? I know it was a moment that you were looking forward to, but the way it was done just pisses me off so bad. Apart from the whole Hand storyline that annoys me, I'm disappointed with the way they handled the passage of time in general. Season starts with a news report about 5 consecutive days of 100° temps...the Irish talk about Frank wearing a coat "in the middle of summer" when they're looking for him, the whole season moves like a freight train with some episodes only being a day or 2 of real time...yet somehow we end on Xmas? And how did Frank go from still having a pretty severe jarhead high and tight the morning his trial started...to having a proper fade when he arrives in prison...the trial was not that long, lol. It would have been a great way to show the passage of time IF we didn't have other things showing us that significant time was not passing! It was a season that couldn't make up its mind on all sorts of things...and I get that usually tv shows have different writers and directors for episodes...but could ya'll PLEASE read what each other wrote, fer crissakes? With the attention to detail they put into things like Frank's bruises, you'd think they could extend that same level of concern for continuity to the rest of the damn show. Sorry...but...really? Ugh. I'm not gonna confirm or deny any predictions made, lol. However, to end on a happy note...since you mentioned Charlie's smile...enjoy a handful of clips from press (sadly some of it is repeated from stuff I have already linked and I could not find separate sources that weren't part of significantly longer vids) but there's lots of Charlie and Jon smiling and being adorkable. https://youtu.be/w3FRKtReMVI?si=1LUP0tZdJLNFZt2M

The episodes are running together in my head so I'm going to mention them both here. Initially the fight scene with Electra going after Stick at first she actually wasn't in kill mode, she was using the blunt end of the Sai's and she didnt go into kill mode till he said she needed to die I think. The final roof scene battle with all the ninjas and Nobo, I think the reason those ninjas didnt attack other than being ordered not to it could also have something to do with honor not to interfere with a fight when your master is fighting someone 1 v 1 I loved Uncle Frank in the Diner with Karen was a fun convo, and frank finally becoming who the media named him with a clearer head he will be even more deadly. Foggy getting an upgrade job ? atleast money wise. Have to see how it plays out, will he have to defend Matt one day ! Finally we end with Matt telling Karen and Electra being reborn basically. P.S. I only noticed the stuff with the Sai's due to a character from Xena warrior princess using them as a defence weapon

Chris Elkins

I actually really want to watch the Thomas Jane movie because I really like him. One day!

If it's any consolation, Season 2 is generally thought of as the weakest of the three seasons of Daredevil, and very few people resonated with the whole Elektra angle, so you're definitely not alone. Just to echo what others have said, you should absolutely not skip Defenders, or watch it out of order because it does play into continuity for things that follow. People may tell you to skip Iron Fist, and it's definitely the weakest of the 5 series, especially the first season (the showrunner for the first season just did not care for the superhero aspect at all), but you should know the character going in. Just for fun, this isn't the first take on Daredevil, Elektra, or the Punisher to make it onto a screen. There've been three attempts Punisher movies (Dolph Lundgren in 1989, Thomas Jane in 2004, and Ray Stevenson in 2008), and Fox tried with both a Daredevil movie and and Elektra movie in the 00s. The quality of all of the above varies wildly, but may be worth watching. ...Maybe save Daredevil and Elektra for after S3 since it'll spoil characters that are done better in the series, though. But if you wanna scratch a Punisher itch, those ones can be watched any time. Also, FWIW, no need to reply to my ramblings unless you wanna. Don't feel obligated. :D

Honestly haha

kaiielle

It was, I'm really excited for S3 Foggy.

kaiielle

I don't have any interest in splitting the watching up quite like that, but appreciate the suggestion anyway! Hmm I didn't see Matt doing that as killing Nobu, probably because Nobu survived, but I suppose you're right that it is still killing.

kaiielle

Perhaps I mixed up Defenders with something else, but I def won't! I'm excited for S3 when we get to it.

kaiielle

Same, I want to visit Japan but I figured I can use google babelfish easily on signage but being able to converse and talk about car stuff (car guy here) is more important. I also failed at the kanji in college but was good at the oral exams. Also why I didn't take Japanese 2. Lol

Carl Johnson

Karen's was thinking why is Daredevil holding my face like Matt does?

Carl Johnson

I find German easier than other European languages because English is built off of German and Nordic languages loke Swedish. Swedish more so. I find that subtitles in Swedish films are like a second or two behind me deciphering the spoken word because it is so similar to English when you listen to it. Like you can watch the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo without subtitles.

Carl Johnson

For me, I was relying far too much on Romaji and knew that would hinder my own progress with the language. Since I want to travel there one day, I'd like to be able to reliably read signage. 😂 Kanji is a lot and I've already accepted that there's no way I'll ever know it all anyway.

kaiielle

I focused on learning spoken Japanese. The kanji was too much. Just using the English alphabet version. What's also interesting about Japanese is the narrative structure of their sentences, paragraphs, essays, and stories are different from all Western languages.

Carl Johnson

Yes do not skip the Defenders. I actually like it. It ain't great but all the Netflix shows are far better than the Disney+ mcu shows.

Carl Johnson

Forgot to mention Foggy joining jeri firm. His arc was small but great this season. Calling Matt out and realizing he brings more to the table with his talents then he even realizes. Nelson and Murdock is dead but at least foggy is rewarded for all the hard work he has done.

Christopher simeon

i completely agree that season 1 is better then 2 and The hand storyline while very important to the Daredevil character in the comics the series has a difficult time making it interesting. Ninjas we get it. But we need more. The Frank storyline is the best thing about this season by far and his storyline and character is one of the best introduction in all the Marvel shows. His story ends here by "killing" Frank Castle his normal life and all his connections even Karen while Matt after his arc this season and losing Electra he decides to let Karen into his life. Matt after losing Electra makes a choice to kill Nobu. There is no way a regular person could survive that drop. Even though Nobu comes back for about thirty seconds the intent was still there. Losing someone you care about changes things. Matt now understands Frank and Frank left him to kill Nobu because he knows he needed it. Frank did not seemed surprised to see Matt without the mask because he already realized it was him earlier. This was just sort of confirmation. He also knows Matt can hear him say "See you around, Red" About Slingshot series. It is connected to AOS. A character focused miniseries and it's not long at all. You could watch all episodes in one sitting they are very short like 2-4 minutes I believe. I have mentioned this before if you chose you can split AOS seasons into 2 parts. Episode 1-10 and 11-22 usually have a winter break in between them so if you want to switch to the next show those are the moments that work best. The seasons are long and that can get draining after a while.. You could also try experimenting and mixing Luke Cage and AoS episodes each week 1 Luke 1 AOS.

Christopher simeon

This season is just a weird one for me haha, the frank stuff is absolutely phenomenal but the hand/Elektra stuff is so poor in comparison, a clashing of two stories that didn’t marry well into eachother in my opinion. Definitely the weakest of the three seasons but you’ll be glad to know that season 3 of DD and both seasons of punisher are widely regarded to be the best of the defenders saga (: looking forward to your future reactions, KL! Also, in regard to people telling you to skip defenders, do not. Defenders is arguably the most important show from a continuity perspective, not gonna say which shows it effects but all you need to know is that it’s crucial so don’t skip please! (:
