Schedule Update

I'm having some tech issues with my video recordings, where the video of myself is freezing mid-reaction. It's happened in two reactions now, so I won't be recording any new ones until I know that I won't encounter this problem anymore. What's frustrating about this is that the cause can be so many different things and I haven't nailed down exactly what the cause is yet, but I am still actively working on it.
I am stubborn because I've been recording my reactions in the most efficient way possible (both for file storage and for editing purposes) for over 2.5 years now and that makes it hard to suddently switch to an inefficient method. I'm sure you can understand that feeling.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to record the reaction that I would have shared today (the Member of the Month Winner's Pick) prior to this issue starting. And the release schedule for the week that would normally go out tomorrow will be delayed until I have a fix and can confidently record for you all.
I really appreciate your patience as I work through this! I have a relatively high standard for my videos and it's pained me that two reactions have been botched. π

Alright folks. I've done about as much as I can, but the freezing issues are still present after three test recordings (not actually reacting, just letting the recording run). It's so inconsistent though, which is frustrating. Freezing after 6 mins, 82 mins, 110 mins. ??? UGH. The new cable I ordered didn't make a difference (but at least now I have two). I've sent up a ticket to Elgato Support detailing EVERYTHING I've done so far, including every step on their own troubleshooting page for this issue. I'm curious to see what they'll get back to me with. I have a feeling they won't be able to help, so I placed an order for a different brand of Cam Link - one that had decent reviews from people who ran into issues with the Elgato one, like me. That will arrive tomorrow, but not til the afternoon sometime. Provided all goes well with it tomorrow, then I should be able to get a schedule out on Wednesday.

I'd like to think this community is understanding enough to back off and let you take the time you need to figure this out. We've got your back and hopefully it'll turn out to be a simple solution.

2024-09-19 20:21:08 +0000 UTCI didn't use Dawn, actually! I purchase most of my cleaning products from a local family company that makes that stuff themselves, only because they allow us to bring our own containers for refills so it's one of the ways I can save on my personal plastic usage.

2024-09-19 20:13:16 +0000 UTCThe smell is definitely gone from her, aside from a *hint* of it in her face still, but at this point I will just let time remove the rest of it instead of forcing her to be scrubbed down for the 8th time. Helps to stick your nose in something strong first, like Vicks VapoRub, before putting it right into to your dogs hair!

2024-09-19 17:08:01 +0000 UTCIt is definitely a myth. The home remedy that works is hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and a bit of soap. I didn't have peroxide so I couldn't use that mix til today. But dish soap alone actually got rid of most of the skunk oils and stench!

2024-09-19 16:39:35 +0000 UTCOh man I remember when that happened to Crunch. Didn't matter what I did I could not get rid of the smell. It finally faded away after a couple weeks but good Lord. I hope you have better luck! I don't know if the tomato juice thing is a myth or not but if all else fails, it's worth a shot.
