Dark: Crossroads [1x07] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

My failure to recognize clothing in this episode became my undoing. 😅 [Direct link here.]

The theories can certainly run wild with this show, especially if you're not interpreting things correctly initially, which already adds so much value to rewatching. I'm truly having the BEST time with this show and I'm so glad I picked it. Can't believe we'll be wrapping up Season 1 next week already.

Please enjoy!

HAHA it's okay Nate. 😅 Don't be too hard on yourself! I feel like there's a lot of tiny details we gotta pay attention to.

I doubt that I will do that, as I'd definitely want to binge them on my own time and not worry about being on camera or talking. That said, I'm strongly considering editing these for YouTube in 2025 so if I decide to do that, then I would very much expand on my thoughts in the reviews (they'd be after my initial post-watch reviews).

kaiielle

It doesn't. 😂

Okay I am so dumb lol All those theories about the burned eyes I had and they showed that contraption in the first or second episode. It was literally right before my eyes. *eye roll at myself*

When I was scrubbing the episode to screengrab an image for the thumbnail, that was when I noticed the outfit differences between '53 Helge and the boy in the last scene with '86 Helge.

I'll agree some shows can be binged like that. But with a show like Dark where the mystery is the hook it sparks conversation and holds your interest for longer. Older shows like Lost would not have stayed popular as long if it had been released all at once. My opinion of course. Can't be proven now.

Dark is a great show to rewatch! I literally would watch you react to the whole series again once you finish it! The whole show feels different on a rewatch once you understand what is fully going on.

I would argue that some shows are designed to be binged as if a really long movie. For example the Duffer Brothers have said they wish for people to watch the whole seasons in a movie theater in the future. And the Marvel/Disney+ shows were written as if the seasons were one movie broken up. Unfortunately Disney released them in a weekly schedule.

I will say it doesn't help when those kids have the same hair color and are dressed in dark colored clothes.

Love your outro theories and the captions you added. LOL! I'm assuming you'd already seen the next episode when you edited it. This show is so hard not to binge, because you just want answers! I'm glad that streaming networks have started to go back to that weekly episode format in the last few years rather than releasing a season all at once. It keeps that mystery and anticipation alive.
