The Acolyte: Teach / Corrupt [1x06] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Hello everyone! Next episode is up for watching. [Direct link here.]
As we get closer to the finale, I can't help but think that I'm going to want to give this show a re-watch all at once before making some comments on my final thoughts about it. It's crazy how some shows feel best with weekly releases and other shows feel like they'd hit harder if it could be watched all at once. With each episode I think this would have hit harder as a movie.
I'm looking forward to chatting about this and reading your thoughts!
Cheers,

I’m not dialed into social media. I’ve seen a couple of (negative) reviews on YouTube so I am genuinely asking. Am I the only one who thinks Qimir’s scar, which is long and jagged looks like it could have been made by a lightsaber whip? And BTW, lightsaber whip? Is there precedent for this in Star Wars? I assume drawing power from a Kyler crystal could go that way. I was just very surprised and no one else seemed to care.

I actually quite liked this episode and didn’t find it boring at all.
I’m very unsure if Sol knew it was Mae. In the aftermath of the fight he was devastated and I believe he was too out of balance to sense anything. Personally I think he only started to suspect something after his comment on Pip and Mae’s reaction.
Leaving before the rescue team arrived I assume was to be able to talk with Mae alone. After losing his whole team I doubt he’d be allowed to set out to try and find/save Osha.
I found it interesting to see the contrast between Sol and Qimir. Sol is drowning in emotions in this episode, while Qimir seems to be at peace.
I’m totally with you on the weekly releases. Since this is a single, continuing story it would probably flow a lot better if you can binge it. I plan on doing a full rewatch when episode 8 releases.

This episode really added more questions for me ( and it is not bad.) Qimir's scar could have been from Vernestra lightwip saber, so is he her former padawan and why she is creating a cover up ? ( that and the fear of that senate review of the order.)
I am afraid that Sol is going to be used as a scapegoat. Sure he did something bad most likely, but he is also ready to tell everything.
I was not so much of a fan of Sol having those convenient tech issues and him leaving seconds before the rescue team but the lore is fixed, the order at large can't learn the Sith are still a thing yet. But they did not find a clever writing way to get out of it. Oh well.

That should be a fun discussion. I enjoyed this episode more than the rest -- there was a TON of gouge to sort through in this one. It was quite revealing and added so much more to the mystery. Oh, Vernestra...you are sus, dear. So, so sus. ;)
EDIT: Also, I couldn't love Qimir more—best new character in SW in a very long time.

This one felt like a filler... like a bridge between two major points. What the next two episodes hold... I am so ready and excited for it. Do you think there might be another season, or that this will be all wrapped up by the finale?
