Update for upcoming videos

Hey all

Just wanted to give a short update on my short-term plans for upcoming videos. Unfortunately I got sick recently which has slowed me down. I thought at first it might be a good thing since I get to stay home, but I've spent most of my time in my bed just trying to recover! That being said, I'm still able to write, so I've been doing a lot of script work, and I even managed to sneak in a voice-over before it got really bad(although I sound like crap). The video I'm trying to work on now is another news-related one for Classic, so no EA on this one unfortunately. I feel kind of awkward because I just plugged the patreon, and I haven't done an early access video yet! It's just crazy timing with all of the news though, and this should be the last one(unless something else comes up).

I guess the good thing though is that you guys have had like 10 days of early access to my top 10 list(scroll a few posts down to see it). This one has suffered some setbacks, as I have to go back and fix some things in light of all of the recent news. My plan right now is to get this next news video out(maybe tomorrow?), fix up the top 10, post that a day or two later, and get back to work on this month's poll winner(which turned out to be that profession guide).

So I have a full plate for sure - hopefully I'm back at 100% soon so I can get back into the swing of things!

Also, I've had a bunch of people asking if I got into the beta for Classic. Unfortunately I have not as of this post. I'm not super bummed about it though - as I mentioned in a recent video I don't plan on going super hardcore on the beta anyways since I'd like to keep the real launch fresh for myself.

If I did get in, I'd probably just fiddle around with the super early-game with a few classes to pin down a main character, and of course actually test the beta as well. The things I'd like to tackle are health regen and mob difficulty since as I remember those seemed off in the demo we got at last year's blizzcon. I've seen some talk about this on the classic forums and whatnot, but as far as I can tell no one has provided any concrete evidence of discrepancies, so I think that's definitely worth investigating - If I get in, that's where my efforts will be focused.

So as a summary: 1. Classic info roundup 2. fix and post that top 10 3. Profession guide. If between any of these steps I get into the beta, you can expect a video about that.

That's about it though! I'm off to hibernate once more, and try to sleep off this flu. Have a great day, all!

No sir. My first realm was Lothar (PvE) at Vanilla launch in ‘04 but it was East Coast located and had huge login queues. I and my friends moved to Bloodscalp (PvP) and I leveled several characters there and HATED the ganking. Never so happy as I was when realm moves became a thing. I will not play on a PvP server again. Organized PvP is fun. The Southshore/Tauren Mill battles were fun. Getting ganked while trying to level/farm/quest was not...IMHO.

Hah yeah I expect to die quite a lot myself. Are you on a pvp server for that extra challenge or just sticking with pve?

Update - The Shaman is now level 16 and has died a number of times due to being overwhelmed. The health/mana regen has normalized for sure. The game is as I remembered - tough, more challenging (due in part to lack of 15 years worth of resources) and I am enjoying it.

I think I'm on the upswing now! Most of the nasty stuff has passed it seems. Will be back to 100% soon!

I know that at some point they added a buff to health/mana regen for players under level 10, but I thought that was in the WOTLK era. Might have to do some digging on that

Thanks Ayed! Profession guide is still in the script stage, but it's turning out nicely so far - will be quite a long one that's for sure!

A follow-up - 'gold' is much harder to come by obviously. That being the case, I was using lower rank spells because I couldn't purchase the higher ranks yet. That contributed to the mana lasting as long as it has been.

I have leveled a Tauren Shaman to 9 so far. The health/mana regen still seems off. It could be the low level and may normalize some as the level increases. I have taken on 3 mobs at once and not died. I did run out of mana and had to melee but a Shaman does take a beating well for a caster with a mace and shield - especially with a Stoneskin Totem out.

Thanks for the update and I hope you are feeling better! We have had something going around here (Florida) that luckily I have avoided so far, but it seems to take people a long time to get through. Hope you didn't get that!
