Short VO, Video Today, Thoughts on New Perk?

Hey all

As a quick update, I have the voiceover for the next video for you. As discussed in the latest post it's a short update regarding the BFA alpha(an update to the update I guess), so nothing major - just a 4 minute video. It's basically just my previous patreon post in video form for the non-patrons.

After this one will be my general impressions of BfA so far in its super early alpha state, and then I'm thinking memories part 4 like I discussed in the previous post.

In this next video I'll be taking all sorts of requests for BfA stuff. Feel free to let me have them here as well if there's anything in particular you'd like to see!

Also, I've been giving another perk some thought. Something that's been brought up from time to time and something I've seen other people do on Patreon is advanced access to videos. That is, for some videos Patrons get access to them a day or two ahead of time.

This has been suggested a few times over the past year or so when I started Patreon back up. I've sort of been against it since I think it might leave non-patrons out a little too much. I want to have strong perks, but not so strong that people who aren't signed up for Patreon are left out(which is why I've been going with numerous more minor perks that everyone gets).

I have been warming up to the idea recently for a few reasons. One is a lot of the times these videos are ready for a day or so before I actually post them. Every time I finish a video I always give it a day to sit with me and watch it a few times to make sure its up to my standards. In fact, today's video has been ready for a couple of days but I just haven't gotten around to posting it yet. There have actually been quite a few videos that I finished that no one has ever seen simply because I thought I didn't do a good enough job on them. So this day of review could be that advanced access for you guys, without delaying anything for the non-patrons out there.

Plus another good side to that is if there is an error with the video and one of you guys(or gals) catch it, that could be something I could fix before I release it to everyone else on Youtube before it's too late, thus increasing the overall quality - definitely a good side effect.

Another reason I've been warming up to it is that I definitely wouldn't do it with every video. News videos will be released as soon as they're ready(Hey they call it "news" for a reason, not "olds"). And in cases where I haven't had an upload to the channel for 5+ days I wouldn't do advanced access just for the sake of keeping a steady stream of videos going. I try to get videos out every 3-5ish days, but due to my work schedule or the actual size of the video sometimes I miss that mark. If that's the case I wouldn't want to leave the non-patrons without a video for an extra day due to a Patreon perk. So again, it wouldn't be for every video. Some months it could be 5+ videos of early access, and others it could be 0 depending on my work schedule.

So, let me know what you think. I may be preaching to the choir here since all of you are Patrons, but any feedback at all is always appreciated. Just like with the other perks, this would be something that everyone gets regardless of the tier level. Like I said I've been weighing the pros and cons myself for a while now, but haven't had enough to make a decision either way. Let me know what you think of this idea!
